Key Responsibility Areas

The Electrical Technologist will be involved in the development of complex electrical infrastructure from site assessments and concept design to green field construction and major modification of existing infrastructures on national capital projects.

• Prevent site downtime due to electrical plant failure.

• Perform effective contract management to manage a range of service providers' efficient services to SITA.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience: +5 years industry related electrical power engineering experience which should include: Maintenance and operation of electrical plant in the area of complex ICT facilities or Critical mission facilities (such as Banks, Data Centres, Telecommunications network sites, or hospitals). Experience with (building) power system analysis and engineering. Experience in bidding, designing, operating, and commissioning of electrical distribution system for ICT facilities from medium voltage (MV) transformer to branch circuits and backup power (UPS's and Generators)
Experience with Data Centre operations including detailed comprehension of high availability systems. Experience with project management, product evaluation, vendor or customer management. Experience with reviewing estimates of material and labour costs for repairs, replacements, and improvements to ensure that repairs are addressed in a timely and cost-effective manner, on the electrical plant in the area of complex ICT facilities. POSITION STATUS : Permanent (Internal & External) 
 
Purpose of the job 
To professionally execute pre-employment vetting requests in accordance with the relevant internal policies and procedures in order to ensure that SITA only appoints candidates who meet the minimum security, integrity and qualification requirements. 
 
Key Responsibility Areas 
• Execute pre-employment vetting requests. 
• Execute security screening of contractors. 
• Maintain pre-employment vetting systems. 
• Initial administrative processing of security clearance applications. 
 
Qualifications and Experience 
Minimum: Matric + 3-year Degree in Human/Social Sciences, Forensic Investigation, Risk Management or Criminology. Added advantage: Postgraduate qualification; Certified Fraud Examiner; Certified Ethics Officer. A car and valid driver's license are required. 
Added advantage: Certified Fraud Examiner; Certified Ethics Officer 
Experience: 3-5 years' working experience in Recruitment and Selection, Security Vetting, Risk Management or Forensic Investigation. 
 
Technical Competencies Description 
Knowledge of: People risk assessment - collection and verification of information, analysis of information collected, identification of people related risks, mitigation and recommendation; General pre-employment vetting policies, systems and procedures; National Qualifications Framework; Recruitment and selection.
