POSITION STATUS : Fixed Term Contract - 24 months (Internal/External)
Purpose of the job
To manage and execute the process to transform business requirements (functional & non-functional) into a set of software requirements that specify the software solution to be provided in terms of detailed requirements and to design, develop / customize / test, release, maintain and enhance large integrated applications, in accordance with ICT standards and the enterprise architecture for Government.
Key Responsibility Areas
Manage, develop and implement strategies and manage the section in order to ensure effective and efficient operations and that all the resources are utilised optimally. This must be done in accordance with SITA Policy Framework;
Manage, develop and implement Architectural and Governance mechanisms for the Software Development section to improve interoperability of government systems and quality of services and deliverables;
Manage analysis and design projects spanning multiple environments to ensure that it is successfully delivered;
Manage and or develop analysis and design work packages for integrated software components, taking into consideration SITA’s software development stack and doing this in accordance with ICT standards and the enterprise architecture for Government;
Manage and execute software development and customization programmes / projects spanning multiple environments to ensure that it is successfully delivered;
Manage and execute the development, customization and maintenance of integrated Technical Service Specifications for single or multiple software components to clearly set direction for procuring or building software components;
Manage and or conduct activities to develop Application Service Specifications in accordance with ICT standards and the enterprise architecture for Government;
Participate in procurement of integrated IT solutions in accordance with ICT standards and the enterprise architecture for Government, and within the SITA Supply Chain Management governance framework;
Participate in execution of comprehensive software test activities in accordance with SITA Test Methods and Testing Techniques using SITA approved Testing Tools;
Manage and execute packaging and releasing of integrated IT software components in accordance with ICT standards and the enterprise architecture for Government;
Ensure that resources (including self) are kept abreast of the latest industry developments and ensure that appropriate technologies are used for knowledge management so as to ensure innovation and improved productivity;
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum: 3 year Diploma / Degree in an ICT related field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology and Engineering) and/or related.
Experience: A minimum of 6-7 years’ experience in the ICT field, including IT Governance, IT planning, systems development / procurement, implementation and maintenance / enhancements of large integrated solutions across multiple hardware and software platforms with leadership, management, operational responsibility in a large corporate/public sector organisation including:
Experience within solution analysis and design in multiple business domains.
Experience within software development in multiple platforms.
C#, ASP.Net MVC, Mobile Applications, Systems development lifecycles, analysis and design as well as any other development needs as the business requires
Experience in data management.
Experience in integration.
