Job Description
With the humble beginnings of a single store in Johannesburg CBD opened by Anthony and David Spitz in 1968, SPITZ has grown from strength to strength to become synonymous with the excellence of the exclusive international brands it offers in-store. 
An exciting opportunity exists for a BRAND GRAPHIC DESIGNER at SPITZ in Bryanston, Johannesburg.  The purpose of the role is to produce visual communications for The Spitz Group for internal programs and external communication using templates and then translating these for the relevant advertising mediums. As our Brand Graphic Designer, you will be required to create content for a variety of marketing channels, including websites, magazines, product packaging, banners, signage and social media platforms. 
 
Job Specification:
Key Performance Areas:
  1. All retouching of photographic images produced through each season for Spitz, Kurt Geiger, and Gant
  2. Clean up all images at a high level of detail e.g. backgrounds; dust scratches, etc.
  3. Resize images according to required formats
  4. Save and catalogue images on the shared server to ensure that they are easy to find and always accessible 
  5. Create artwork as briefed by Brand Marketing and Visual teams for social media, signage and advertising for various campaigns
  6. Styled shots of products used to create social media posts
  7. Public Relations:
    • Prepare existing editorial with respective merchandise item to create social media posts
  8. Bloggers:
    • Prepare existing blogger image with respective merchandise item to create social media posts
  9. Seasonal Campaign Imagery:
    • Prepare with correct logo and according to CI
  10. Campaign artwork including that for promotions:
    • Lay-by; competitions and RCS. Maybe across social media, email and print signage
  11. Store closure and openings
  12. Adverts for print purposes 
  13. Electronic archiving and maintenance of various image and creative libraries (namely organogram images, seasonal campaign images, and product shots)
  14. Ensure various libraries are correctly maintained indicating which images have been retouched and which not and which artwork is ready for posting.
  15. Liaison between retouching agencies to ensure full sets of campaign images are saved and catalogued 
  16. Ensure Corporate Identity seasonally and at a brand, level is adhered to for all content being created
  17. Ensure full understanding of CI changes – as indicated by brand and digital team and be able to implement.
  18. Ensure logos and CI documents are kept updated as used as reference 
  19. Create content for merchandise guides including store Lookbooks and wholesale guidelines.
  20. Create cover and divider pages for lookbooks and wholesale books; as well as inserting products and article numbers
 
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:                                                                   
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Graphic Designer 
 
Qualifications:
  • Completed Graphic Designer Diploma or Degree
  • DTP Certification 
 
Additional Requirements:
  • Layout and design knowledge is essential
  • Working across formats in digital and print elements
  • Proficient in Adobe CS5, Mac, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Good understanding of Desktop Publishing (DTP)
  • Proficient in Finished Art
  • Knowledge of all relevant design programmes namely PhotoshopIllustrator, and InDesign
  • Photo editing skills essential

  • To manage and control the financial aspects of running the store to ensure store profitability

  • To ensure proper stock management and control to minimise loss and to ensure product availability
  • To deliver the best customer service to ensure the best customer experience
  • To build excellent relationships with all relevant service providers (internal and external)
