The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is therefore seeking to appoint an efficient and enthusiastic person to undertake the role of:
Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

Job Summary:
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units.
Key Performance Areas:
• Provide advice on labour related issues to management
• Facilitate disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings
• Assist management with all progressive disciplinary issues
• Assist with preparation for CCMA cases and proper record management
• Participate in workforce planning
• Facilitate end-to-end recruitment and selection process within SAWS
• Identify the best medium for advertising and advertise jobs both internally and externally while ensuring efficient turn-around times
• Compile recruitment reports for hiring Managers with recommendations for appointment of successful applicants
• Administer probation process for newly appointed employees
• Facilitate on-boarding and induction of all new employees
• Ensure effective employment contract management
• Organise, maintain and safeguard records or information regarding area of responsibility
• Assist business units with compensation and benefits administration
• Manage leave approvals, attend to Employee Self Service (ESS) enquiries and register new employees
• Responsible for the coordination between payroll and human resources, to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
• Provide inputs regarding policies and procedures as and when required
• Monitor and coordinate with business units to ensure that policies and practices are appropriately rolled out and utilised by business units.
• Ensure that all employees have signed performance agreements and assessments for the two semesters
• Coordinate and guide the performance management process
• Ensure adherence to the Performance Management Policy and other related policies
• Guide Managers on preparation of individual development plans
• Facilitate the drawing-up of annual training plans and overseeing the coordination of training in line with the plans
• Assist Managers with the preparation of succession plans
Minimum Requirements:
• A Degree or BTech qualification in Human Resources Management
• A minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Excellent Labour or employee relations background
• Knowledge of relevant labour legislation with specific reference to the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act

• Good communications skills (written and verbal) at all levels within the business and with stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal and team working skills
• Meticulous, accurate and pay attention to detail
• Excellent and proven research and analytical skills
• Ability to work under pressure and at times extended hours to meet deadlines
• Organise, maintain and safeguard records or information regarding area of responsibility
