VETERINARY NURSES / NSPCA QUALIFIED INSPECTORS/ UNISA ANIMAL WELFARE ASSISTANTS – GEORGE AND MOSSEL BAY BRANCHES, WESTERN CAPE
Vacancy Location: Garden Route SPCA, George and Mossel Bay branches, Western Cape
Job title: Veterinary Nurses / NSPCA qualified Inspectors/ UNISA Animal Welfare Assistants
The Garden Route SPCA is looking to employ Veterinary Nurses and/or NSPCA qualified Inspectors and/or UNISA Animal Welfare Assistants. There are 12 vacancies available to perform services in animal welfare.
Duties:
- Examining a patient and recognising a healthy animal
- Basic husbandry
- Administration of medicines
- Vaccinations, deworming and external parasite control
- Dealing with sick and injured animals
- Recognition of zoonosis and reporting to a superior
- Euthanasia
- Micro chipping
- Pre- and post-home checks.
Requirements:
- Holder of the One Year UNISA animal welfare certificate
- Registration with South African Veterinary Council OR qualified and registered as a NSPCA Inspector
- A passion for animals
- Good people skills
- The ability to work independently, and also as part of a team
- A valid unendorsed driver’s license
- Have a valid clean police clearance record
- The ability to communicate in at least 2 of the official languages of Western Cape
- Have good computer and good administration skills
- Maintain a high standard of ethics and discretion regarding sensitive information
- Willingness to work after hours and on weekends
- A third language will be an advantage.

Veterinarian required for an accredited small animal hospital; Kilcock Veterinary Hospital, Kilcock, Co. Kildare, Ireland. We have an exciting opening for a Veterinarian to start before March if possible. Full-time permanent, no OOH, attractive salary depending on experience and skill level.
Additional requirements: Good level of English Cl-level ideally and qualify for registration with the Veterinary Council of Ireland.
