ANIMAL WELFARE ASSISTANT / VET NURSE / AHT – BOKSBURG, GAUTENG
Vacancy Location: Boksburg SPCA, Boksburg, Gauteng
Job title: Kennel manager: Animal Welfare Assistant / Vet Nurse / AHT
The Boksburg SPCA are looking to appoint a dynamic candidate who will enhance and grow our current good reputation within the SPCA and Boksburg community.
 
THE CANDIDATE SHOULD:
  • Be passionate about animal welfare
  • Have leadership ability and a team player
  • Have excellent people skills, be self-motivated and able to work under pressure
  • Have good decision-making abilities / initiative, be a forward thinker but be willing to take advice and guidance.
 
MINUMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Registered Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
  • Valid SA Driver’s Licence and own transport
  • Good time management, interpersonal and admin skills
  • A police clearance certificate will be required if application is successful
  • Good communications skills (English & Afrikaans) – verbal and written
  • Maintain a high standard of ethics and discretion regarding sensitive information
  • Computer literate (not negotiable) – Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail and Internet
  • Registered with the SAVC as an Animal Welfare Assistant / Vet Nurse or AHT
  • Good organisational skills
  • Competency with vaccinating, microchipping and the euthanasia of dogs and cats
  • Willingness to work alternate Saturdays and after hours, should the need arise
  • Minimum, two contactable references.
