Position Title: Junior Actuarial Analyst
 
JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT/PURPOSE:
The Actuarial Analyst assists the Actuary with the day to day operations of the Actuarial department within Sasria. This would include the valuation of technical provisions, capital modelling for economic and regulatory purposes, stress testing and scenario analysis, assisting with reinsurance reviews and being involved in any updates to pricing basis.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA
 
Key Performance Areas (Duties & Responsibilities):
 
1.Strategic Alignment
•Ensures that financial transactions, policies and procedures meet short- and long-term business objectives and regulatory body requirements.
2. Business focused collaboration
•Reserving:
• Assimilation and verification of required data
• Analysis of claims experience relatives to reserves
• Quarterly reserving calculation
• Capital Modelling
• Execution of regulatory and economic models
• Ensure completion of risk metrics for use in reporting to Risk Committee
• Support the Actuarial Department with periodic asset liability allocation exercise.
• Assess Market and Credit risk based on appropriate VaR models
• Preparation of information required by Actuary for calibration of capital models
• Assistance with reinsurance assessment for reinsurance renewals
 
• Other responsibilities:
• Provide assistance with periodic pricing exercises
• Assist with quarterly and annual regulatory reporting
• Assist with experience investigations
3.Strategic Involvement
• Contribute to the creation the Sasria’s long term strategy and short-term business plan through modelling of various scenarios and the impact on the business

Qualifications:
  • Actuarial Graduate
  • 1 – 2 years actuarial experience in a similar position, preferably in short term insurance
