Job Title: TALENT MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (C5)
(Position based in NPC, Pretoria)
Reports to: Head Talent Management
 
Summation
The role of the Talent Management Specialist will be to support the talent strategy and framework and to ensure operational continuity and sustainability by providing an integrated process of identifying, selecting, developing and retaining top Talent within the organisation that is required for long term planning.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
• Implementation of talent management processes and procedure aligned with talent management policies and framework
• Contributing to the sourcing strategies and workforce planning of Postbank. Analyse organisation work force and develop an organisational workforce plan.
• Engage with HR business partners to understand the critical, scarce and future recruitment needs of the business
• Identification of critical position, scarce and critical skills, categorisation of high flyers, key player and under performers as part of the talent identification process.
• Talent Development:
• Work closely with Learning and Development to ensure development programs are in place and that performance are measured
• Institute formal career discussion between employee and direct line manager to align personal aspirations with organisational opportunities
• The assessment of employee’s suitability and potential to fill specific roles or positions will be based on objective measures and competencies.
• Conduct assessments to identify the development gaps
• Create development plans by aligning development needs with performance appraisal outcomes
• Manage various development actions of individuals required to address the gaps, including performance and career development
• Identify critical positions, evaluate individual readiness and implement succession planning for high performing individuals
• Evaluation and monitoring of internal bursary applications
• Talent Engagement and Retention:
• Engagement and retention of talent pools through contributing towards an employee value proposition that reflects a respected organisation, challenging jobs, development opportunities and a conducive culture.
• Regular engagement and co-facilitation of Talent forums (Executive Talent Forum, Senior Manager Talent Forum, Talent Forum for managers and Specialist Forums)
• Identifying talent gaps through talent forums and ensure sourcing strategies to attract and retain talent
• Implement and coordinate the Mentorship/ Coaching program
• Ensure the efficient management, control, compliance and reporting of the function/resources in accordance with the stipulations of the PFMA, banks Act, Postbank Act, BCEA, fraud prevention and risk management principles, legislation, Corporate governance, Delegation of Powers, company policies, processes, regulations, etc.
 
 
Minimum Requirements
• Qualifications: Post Graduate degree in Human Resource Management or Relevant field (NQF 9).
• Registered with the HPCSA as an Industrial Psychologist/Psychometrist
• Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in the relevant field
 
Knowledge and understanding of:
HR Generalist function, Competency frameworks, Psychometric assessment tools, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Career paths and development plans, Customer satisfaction concept, Relevant statutes, rules and regulations, Project management (principles, practices, techniques and tools), Various research and analysis techniques and the practical knowledge of application in a diverse and dynamic environment, Policies, practices, procedures, Strategy development and implementation, Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO standards).
