Job Title: Systems Analyst (C5)
(Position based in Head Office: Pretoria)
Reports to
Manager: Payments and Interbank
Summation
Support the IT Service Delivery – Postilion Switch and Middleware services provided to the user community through the use of ITIL Change Management Processes and Procedures, thereby ensuring these changes do not result in exceptions / outages which would impact negatively on the delivery of service to customers and clients. Respond to business-reported problems, analyze and apply fixes using application programming techniques. Write simple scripts to extract data from systems within the IT governance framework.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and manage the Postilion Switch application (2nd and 3rd level)
Handle change requests and provide quick and efficient solutions
Research how IT systems are used and look at ways to improve use and efficiency
Review and develop computer systems, computer languages, data communication processes and user interface devices
Test new IT system designs and fix design problems found
Test new system components
Write reports describing findings, sometimes for publication
Use data modelling to generate different possible solutions as a means of finding the best result for the client
Analyze system components and monitors data flow to improve efficiency
Liaise with business for clarification of client requirements
Produce definitions, process flow documentation, rules and instructions as a basis for the work of designers and programmers

Liaise with Systems Engineering department in preparing other detailed documentation, including hardware specifications and tender specifications
Help with client-site installation activities
Present all documentation to and assist the Design team during the solution design
Negotiate timelines for the development and implementation of each project
Establish business and technical specifications with respect to business systems and according to client specification
Record all system documentation and update all changes thereto
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
National Diploma in Computer Technology (NQF Level 6) or Degree in Computer Sciences or Information Technology
B-degree in Computer Science OR Information systems (NQF Level 7). MS Certification (supplier course or equivalent - MSCD); Business Analysis or Business / Systems Engineering courses attended will be an added advantage
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in object oriented development e.g. .Net Framework or J2EE
Minimum 3 years (within 5 year) in analysis and design: Business system analysis procedure formulation and integration; Technical and Management reporting; Systems analysis and configuration management; System owner and user liaison
Valid Code B Driving Licence
Knowledge: Strong knowledge and understanding of Postilion, EMV, Scripting, project management and system development methodologies, Technical (development software, systems development) and business analysis background, A strong understanding of systems, systems architectures, as well as relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008/2010, 2012 and 2014 and Oracle.
Skills and Attributes: Analysis of software systems, applications, databases and software environments, Lead and coordinate the team, Business process analysis, design and re-engineering, Interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and writing), Report writing, documentation and presentation skills, Negotiating skills, An analytical person with the ability to determine the best methods to apply for analysis, select appropriate criteria and evaluation options, A mature individual with the ability to identify risks and to objectively select appropriate courses of action, Ability to present findings and to persuade and obtain willing co-operation from others, Ability to apply and adhere to quality standards / handle a degree of routine tasks.
