Job Title: Senior Manager: Financial Reporting (L4)
(Position based in Head Office: NPC - Pretoria)
Reports to: General Manager
Summation
Responsible for the development and implementation of Financial Reporting strategies for SAPO.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strategies, policies and procedures for Financial Reporting to support SAPO’s objectives.
• Prepare Group Consolidated Annual / quarterly financial statements and consolidated Interim Financial statements for SAPO, including subsidiary AFS.
• Ensure the general accounting transactions of SAPO are recorded accurately terms of IFRS and completely in the general ledger.
• Provide IFRS and technical accounting advice to SAPO.
• Ensure SAP interfaces are correct by liaison with financial systems section, providing technical input from a financial accounting perspective. Manage the clearing and reconciliation of accounts within the group ensuring compliance with benchmarks for resolution of items. Ensure correct Accounting on Property and dormant companies.
• Manage external audit relationships and audit deadlines. Manage the payroll reconciliation process (FIN SAP / PAYROLL SAP / Payments). Compile quarterly reports to consolidate into the annual Statistic SA report
• Ensure the efficient management, control, compliance and reporting of the function / resources in accordance with the stipulations of the PFMA, company specific policies and regulations, national legislation, fraud prevention and risk management principles, Corporate Governance, Skills development, Delegation of authority, etc.
Minimum Requirements
• Chartered Accountant (SA) (NQF 8), registered with SAICA.
• Experience: 6 - 8 years of which 5 years is in a management capacity.
Knowledge
• Financial systems and controls including interfaces
• IFRS, VAT Act; Creditors module / reconciliations on complex accounting system, Budgeting
• GRIR and management processes (follow-ups and clearing)
• Accounting Practice including accounting for transactions in foreign currencies
• Strategy development and planning; Change Management
• Project management (principles, practices, techniques and tools)
• Organisational development, management techniques and good business practices
• Financial Management; Value Chain Management; Risk and Compliance management; Relevant statutes, rules and regulations
Skills and Attributes
