The merSETA is the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority, established through the Skills Development Act of 1998 (as amended). The merSETA facilitates skills development in the following sub-sectors: Metals and Engineering, Auto Manufacturing, Motor retail, Tyre Manufacturing, Plastics Manufacturing and Components Manufacturing.
The merSETA is a Schedule 3A public entity, established by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation in 2000, and is governed by the Skills Development Act 97 of 1998, the Public Finance Management Act 1 of 1999, the National Treasury Regulations, SETA Constitution and other relevant laws. The merSETA subscribes to the principles of the King IV Code of Corporate Governance where applicable.
The stakeholders of the merSETA include employers, trade unions, professional bodies, government departments and bargaining councils that hold a stake in the merSector. More information can be obtained from www.merseta.org.za.
This Paterson EL Band Executive level opportunity is based in Melville, Gauteng. The successful applicant will report to the merSETA Chief Executive Officer.

EXECUTIVE MANAGER: CORPORATE SERVICES
Salary (all inclusive): R1 371 493 - R1 618 363 p.a.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Oversee, direct and provide strategic leadership, advisory and support services to the entity through development and implementation of strategic initiatives that support the delivery of quality Corporate services. The position is responsible for managing the outcomes of the following programmes Human Resources, Marketing and Communications, Facilities, Assets and Travel, union relationship and compile and manage the divisional budget.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
● Minimum: Undergraduate qualification (NQF 7) as recognised by SAQA ● Ideal: Post-graduate qualification in relevant field e.g. business administration, HR, marketing or related fields ● Understanding and knowledge of Skills Development Act, Corporate Governance, King IV, related legislation, business management, legal, human resources, marketing and communications and facilities management ● 10 years managerial experience, of which 5 years experience operating at an executive level ● Proven experience in strategic planning and policy development ● Proven working experience in implementing policies and procedures in administration, financial management and project management ● Proven experience in monitoring adherence to legislation, regulations and standards.
