Job Title: ANALYST: RESEARCH, ANALYTICS AND REPORTING(C5)
(Position based in NPC, Pretoria)
Reports to: Portfolio Analysis & Reporting Manager
SUMMATION
The candidate will be responsible for data collation, analysis and interpretation for the formulation and communication of industry, product and customer research insights. Will be required to translate insights into useful information that is aligned to business objectives. Compile business documentation, formulating reports and making research-based recommendations for the development of new and/or revision of existing products and services
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic alignment:
• Articulate insights and align output to business objectives;
• Analyse and track market conditions and retain a dashboard of macro-economic and industry environments; and
• Analyse all relevant research and provide insights that are congruent to Product and Postbank objectives.
Research Management:
• Collate relevant data and conduct in depth analyses using traditional and advanced research methods;
• Develop and implement standard templates to enable period and ad-hoc reporting;
• Drive the execution of research studies; and
• Establish and manage a central knowledge bank of published and bespoke research (internal and external) for the Transactional and Savings Products division.
Analytics and Reporting:
• Prepare business data requirements and log calls for product and customer data extraction;
• Develop novel models for analysing financial, product and customer data;
• Generate useful insights through logical data analysis and communicate these to aid decision making processes; and
• Generate and present research, product performance and customer behavioural analyses reports at various internal structures.
Relationship Management:
• Develop and manage a reference bank of information sources (internally and externally);
• Continuous seek gaps and alternatives to provide guidance and support to the Product team through synchronise and usable insights; and
• Build good understanding of the organisation systems and capabilities to ensure the most efficient use of resources.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
• BCom Degree/BTech, in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics and Research; NQF Level 7
• A Postgraduate qualification would be advantageous
Experience:
• At least 3 years’ experience within the banking and finance environment
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Further experience and knowledge of statistical packages can be an added advantage
• Knowledge and understanding of research methodology and research processes
Knowledge and understanding of:
• An understanding of research methodology and processes
• An understanding of financial and accounting principles
• Ability to model techniques and methods
• Advanced Excel skills (modelling)
• Computer literacy (MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Attention to detail and ability to handle big data
