Job Title: Manager: Internal Communications (L5/6)
(Position based in Head Office - Pretoria)
Reports to: Senior Manager: Communication, Media & Liaison
 
Summation
Supports the Senior Manager in leading the organisation’s internal communication strategy implementation, employee communication, organisational internal brand building, supports internal transformation and reputation improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities
• Accountable for the Postbank internal communication mediums, namely research and story gathering of Monthly issue of the e-Newsletter, Intranet content production and management, staff information sharing and notifications platforms (e.g. Sharepoint, Employee official WhatsApp group) and other related channels.
• Serve as a strategic communication consultant (Business Partner) to all Postbank’s BU’s, including participating in, and being an ex-officio member of, all BU’s management teams meetings and develop related (as well as implement) related BU internal communication plans.
• Together with HR, champion communication relating business performance as well as a culture based on Postbank’s values (be responsible to build channels, strategies and plans to ensure that ‘Postbank’s values are lived’ by all employees).
• Participate in marketing and communications projects as part of a cross-functional team with the marketing BU, and effectively meet all deadlines on assigned projects.
• Assist in the implementation of the strategic internal communication plans (including internal brand positioning, organisational transformation and strategy roll out) for Postbank and each of its BU’s, to ensure they are integrated with marketing plans and are aligned to Postbank’s strategy, as well as the monitoring and evaluation thereof.
​• Assist to implement internal communication monitoring and evaluation mechanisms (Communication Audit) and ensure that actions are taken with BU’s and that an action plan is presented by the Senior Manager: Communication, Media & Liaison on a monthly basis.
• Manage the implementation of Postbank’s and Business Unit communication plans across the business, including in Bloemfontein, any other regions, and all retail channels (e.g., branches).
• Together with marketing teams, own and champion internal communications products and mediums creative & design activities, internal events management in line with Postbank’s brand ID and effectively support all BU’s initiatives aligned to this output as an expert business partner.
• Responsible for aligning Postbank’s external communications activities (media, public and stakeholders relations developments and activities, etc.) inward into the organization to ensure that employees are ‘held by the hand’ and empowered to become authentic brand ambassadors that are knowledgeable about the organization’s developments and spontaneously represent the organization in all forums.
• Ensure the efficient management, control and compliance of function / resources in conjunction with the stipulations of the PFMA, fraud prevention and risk management principles, corporate governance, legislation, company policies, processes, regulations, Delegation of Authority, etc.
 
Minimum Requirements
• Minimum of a B Degree (NQF Level 7) in Communication and / or Marketing. Honours will be a distinct advantage
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a large organisation
• Project Management knowledge and experience
• Experience in initiation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of communication campaigns
• Experience and proven ability to brief, manage, interpret and act on research studies
• Experience and proven ability to develop, implement and measure communication plans for an organisation and for business units
• Proven experience and ability to successfully manage and/or work with Communication and / or Marketing agencies to produce results
• Must be up-to-date with developments in Communication field, especially employee communication trends
• Have sufficient understanding of Marketing to be able to integrate such with Communication
• Must be a team player able to work with cross-functional teams and service multiple principals as a strategic business partner/support
• Have experience working with, and briefing as well as implementing briefs from, Executives and seniors
• Valid Code B Driving Licence
