The position of the GCEO will be responsible for providing strategic, financial and operational leadership for the South African Post Office (SAPO) and is accountable to the Board of Directors and ultimately to the Minister of the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT). The GCEO is responsible for strategic leadership of the group and setting the tone for a performance culture within the group. The GCEO should work with all executives to improve productivity in all the divisions and leading the group to tap into opportunities presented by 4IR by ensuring a cost effective and efficient use of technology (develop e-commerce business). The GCEO should implement strategies for the group to leverage on the vast infrastructure in its portfolio. It goes without saying the need for collaboration and forming profitable alliances or partnerships, strategic negotiations and stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment of priorities and sustainable growth of South African Post Office.

 Achieve business plan and financial targets annually.
 High performance teams employed where the best talent is attracted and retained.
 Achieve the infrastructure optimisation targets as per programme.
 Good relationships with all stakeholders e.g. unions, staff, board, DCDT, customers etc.
 SAPO is ready to compete effectively in 4IR environment – IT optimised.
 Achieve the digital transformation program targets.
 SAPO has a competitive, sustainable and functional E-Commerce platform.
 SAPO’s Cyber security installation is progressing according to plan and continuously updated to be relevant and fit for purpose.
 SAPO has a competitive logistics company.
 Viable bank assurance model for Postbank Platform developed.
 Good reputation of South African Post Office.

 
Do you have the following?
A relevant Master’s Degree or MBA is required.
A minimum of 10 years’ executive management or senior cross-functional experience and experience working with a Board of Directors, either as the GCEO or a Senior
Executive of a major corporation with cross functional operating experience.
Proven track record in successfully running a large and complex organisation / subsidiary.
 
The successful candidate must be knowledgeable about and sensitive to the socio-cultural and political environment in which SA Post Office operates.
Exposure to the international business scene is critical.
Knowledge and understanding of Strategy development and implementation/Understanding and management of Complex systems/Organisational development and building a high performance culture/Leadership and management skills and techniques/Effective Stakeholder
