Job Title: Cyber Security Specialist L5/6 – 1 Position
(Position based in Pretoria, NPC)
Reports to: Head of IT Security
 
Summation
Responsible for identifying potential security threats and collaborate with the relevant IT, Operational and Business stakeholders to implement countermeasures to aid in prevention, detection and response to security threats.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
Cyber Security Administration
• Configuration of security logging and tools available for security monitoring of cloud environments
• Provide continuous assurance on the security setup, configuration and logging requirements for the company.
• Perform continuous internal and external penetration assessments.
• Facilitate the implementation of countermeasures to mitigate identified deficiencies.
• Analyse threat data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Identify important elements of threats (behaviours, tools, targeting, etc.) and use this knowledge to build detections.
• Drive research initiatives to further threat detection capabilities and drive implementation with a SOC.
• Monitor and report on effectiveness of key security countermeasures.
• Provide input and guidance during security incident investigation and response.
• Mobile and Web application penetration testing

Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Relevant Degree or Diploma in Information Technology
• Relevant technical IT security accreditations, e.g. CISSP, CEH, CISM
 
 
Experience:
• 5+ years’ experience in IT Security. ·
• Experience in performing internal and external penetration assessments. ·
• Experience in performing mobile and web application pen testing.
• Experience with malware analysis, vulnerability exploitation, network exploitation, network attacks, network traffic analysis and social engineering
• Experience in cloud security, including the performing of pen tests and security assessments of the company’s cloud service providers
