Job Title: Application Tester / Programmer (C5) – 2 Positions
(Position based in Pretoria, NPC)
Reports to: Manager Applications
 
Summation
The person in this position will test all newly developed applications, amendments and changes applied in a non-production environment before they are applied in production environment.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
• To do testing and reporting on new applications and changes to the existing applications
• Testing
• To accurately test all developmental tasks in accordance with business requirements
• To apply system, regression, performance, negative, scenario and integration testing methodologies
• Strict adherence to time lines
• Design and execute test cases
• Creation and maintenance of test data
• Planning, monitoring and reporting on allocated test responsibilities
• Knowledge transfer and acquisition
• Automation and Manual testing
• Analyse test results and prepare test completion reports
 
All the above roles interface with:
• Developers
• Network engineers
• Security Engineers
• Change Management
• Release management
• IT Production Services
• IT Applications support
• Project teams

 
Qualifications:
• Information Technology diploma or higher / Related qualification
• Software Tester Certification (Advantage)
 
Experience:
• 3years’ experience in service management/ related field
• Experience in Test automation and scripting
• Experience using SQL to interrogate and analyse data
• Experiences in Quality Management Software and Processes
Knowledge and understanding of:
• Demonstrated knowledge, experience and expertise in the following:
  • Testing
  • SDLC life cycle
• Understanding of software development and database languages. E.g. SQL, Oracle DB
