Purpose of the Job

Job Responsibilities

 Perform capacity planning, security analysis and configuration backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning. Provide advice and guidance on Technical Architecture
 Evaluate, monitor and manage the clients’ database, application server and application performance.
 Implement Oracle Optimal Flexible Architecture ( ASM)
 Work alongside the customer, colleagues, partner (s) and other third party.
 Ensure client issues are resolved, either as an individual or with assistance from other Oracle lines of business.
 Maintain an up to date knowledge of practice specific, Oracle products and services.
 Promptly trouble shoot solve Oracle Database problems
 Manage the performance and capacity of an Oracle Database systems environment.
 Anticipate user requirements and identify and resolve complex problems with minimal supervision.
 Assess internal and external operating practices, anticipate future system requirements.
 Research and analyse emerging technologies.

Qualifications and Experience
 National Diploma in Information Technology (NQF Level 6) or equivalent
 Oracle Database certification
 3-5 Years relevant Oracle DBA experience, particularly in relation to performance tuning, security, reliability, scalability, and capacity sizing, backup and recovery
 
Knowledge and understanding of:

Ensure that all changes made in Postbank and in particular in the IT Application Production environment is done through the use of ITIL Change and Release Management Processes and Procedures and that these changes do not result in exceptions / outages that has a negative impact on the Service Level and Operational Level Agreements. Assume ownership and responsibility for the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise for multiple applications across various Portfolios.
 
Job Responsibilities
Change Management:
 Change logging and filtering

 Establish and manage a Change Management Committee and supporting processes, tools and documentation

 Establishes, monitors, and analyses performance metrics and service level agreements to ensure business and customer needs are being properly met.

 Leads the development of IT Operations service strategy and technical roadmap, and ensures its integration with the overall IT and enterprise strategic plans.

Qualifications and Experience

Summation
The Manager: ETL Development will be responsible for analysing the business requirements, design, develop and implement highly efficient, highly scalable ETL processes.
 
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operational:
 Evaluate and design data collection, data staging, data movement, analytics delivery, data quality and archiving strategies
 Perform tests and validate all data flows and prepare all ETL processes according to business requirements and incorporate all business requirements into all design specifications
 Provides/reviews detailed technical specifications and ETL documentations required in each phase of the SDLC, and complies to internal standards and guidelines
 Identify opportunities to optimize the ETL environment, implement monitoring, quality and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity
 Implements all ETL procedures for all new projects and maintain effective awareness of all production activities according to required standards and provide support to all existing applications
 Perform root cause analysis on all processes and resolve all production issues and validate all data and perform routine tests on databases and provide support to all ETL applications
 Monitor all business requirements and validate all designs and schedule all ETL processes and prepare documents for all data flow diagrams
 Provides 24x7 post-implementation supports, responds to problem quickly and provide both short and long term resolutions
 Provides end-users supports including business queries and requests

Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related field or Equivalent Qualification
 
Experience:
 4+ years IT experience, with both hands-on and lead experience in providing ETL solutions
 5+ years of consulting experience (client facing) related to ETL/Data Warehouse implementation projects. Experiences need to include data mapping, ETL development and, testing, and database design (for operational systems, data warehouses and data marts).
 
Knowledge and understanding of:
 Technically strong in ETL concept, design and development using tools like Data Stage, Sunopsis and database utilities (Oracle and Teradata)
 Possession of the following technical skills:
 ETL Tools such as Datastage
 Databases & Utilities such as NCR Teradata & utilities, Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Loader
 Platforms such as NCR/AIX Unix and shell scripting
 Interface Tools such as Connect Direct, Secured FTP, DB2 Connect
 Jobs Schedulers such as Control-M
 
Skills and Attributes:
 Good organizational, oral and written communication skills
 Good business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Outlook)
 Strong problem solving skills
 Ability to meet project objectives, tracking of status and reviewing deliverables at every stage of the SDLC
 Ability to identify required tasks and accurately determine needed resources and timeframes to complete a project and enhancements
 Ability to work in a team environment yet be self-directed, proactive and action-oriented
 Ability to take high-level instruction, work independently and take initiative

HEAD DATA MANAGEMENT AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE (L4)
(Position based in Pretoria, NPC)
Reports to Chief Information Officer
 
Summation
The person in this position will be responsible for leading the Data Management and Business Intelligence (BI). This senior management role has responsibility for Postbank's information and data management, to plan, coordinate, and supervise all activities related to the design, development, and implementation of organisational reporting and analytics.
 
Key Responsibilities
Business Intelligence:
 Form part of a highly technical environment and partner with Senior and Executive management to generate significant value-add to the business.
 Outline the rolling Business Intelligence strategy and automating the analytics environment as well as providing business insights.
 Manage the Business Intelligence team and work closely with the development and engineering teams.
 Automate analytics environment as far as possible, to maximize resources available to deliver advanced (predictive and prescriptive) business insights.
 Integrate Business Intelligence reporting and analytic tools into core processes across business units; play a key role in the product lifecycle management process.
 
Management:
 Provide regular progress reports to the CIO;
 Manage day-to-day Business Intelligence requests from internal clients and together with senior and executive management, develop a prioritization framework.
 Manage the team through setting of and monitoring of KPA and provide the required leadership and mentorship – establish principles and processes to ensure the team spends time on personal training, development and mentoring that is aligned with their job profiles.
 Manage & Enhance Business Intelligence and Reporting
 
Data Management:
 Roll out an enterprise wide Data Governance Operating Framework
 Ensure that all divisions within the company adhere and adopt to the set governance standards through stakeholder management
 Focus on improvement of Data Governance and Data Quality through modification of organization behaviour, policies, standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools as well as Data Architecture
 Collaborate with Risk and Legal departments to interpret data-related acts and laws
 Translate compliance requirements to technical and business requirements for IT and data stewards to action
 
All the above roles interface with:
 Business, Service Providers, IT Production Services, IT Applications support, Project teams, IT Business Unit Heads
 
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, systems analysis or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience. NQF Level 7
 
Experience:
 7+ years Business Intelligence experience
 Data Analysis experience
 Data Warehousing experience
 3 + years managerial experience
 Expert level in Data Visualisation Technology - QlikView, Power BI and Qlik Sense
 Experience working on data science related projects
 Data bases – SQL
 Big Data Technologies - NoSql, Hadoop (Advantage)
 Cloud Platform experience - AWS, Google, Azure etc. (Advantage)
 
Knowledge and understanding of:
 Deep understanding of databases, data science and data modelling. Understanding of designing, integrating and managing complex infrastructure solutions. Strong understanding of risk, data compliance, management and reporting.
