SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE SERVICE (SAPS)
POST: Unit Commander (Colonel)
LOCATION: Serious Corruption Investigation, Provincial Office, Kimberley
LEVEL OF REMUNERATION: MMS: R838 407 per annum

Generic Requirements:
Applicant must display competency in the post-specific functions of the post;
Be in possession of a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and a relevant (to the post) three (3) year Diploma/Degree registered on the National Learner Record Database on at least a NQF 6 level;
Be proficient in at least two official languages, of which one must be English.
Must be a South African citizen.
Must have no previous criminal/departmental convictions or criminal or departmental cases pending;
Applicants will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening;
Be in possession of at least a valid light motor vehicle driver’s licence;
Relevant courses in the field of the post may be an advantage;
Must not have tattoos which will be visible when wearing summer uniform.
Additional Requirements:
An applicable three (3) year Diploma/ Degree registered on the National Learner Record Database on at least a NQF 6 level in Policing/ Law/ Forensic Investigation/ Criminology or other related field of study and have four (4) years relevant experience in the field of the post of which three (3) years should be on supervisory level.
Core Functions:
Monitoring and coordinate special investigations relating to crime committee within the JCPS cluster in the province,
Ensuring proper coordination and investigation of crime within Public and Private Sector in the province,
Monitoring and coordinate investigations relating crime committed within the province
Gathering and utilising of evidence in general through specialised techniques.
Conducting inspections on case dockets and enquiries according to prescripts.
Managing and analysing crime information, pertaining to serious corruption investigations.
Overseeing conformation to and applying standards for information security as prescribed by the Minimum Information Security Standards document and other legislation relating to the protection of information.
Manage and utilise all resources allocated to the immediate post environment in accordance with the relevant directives and legislation.
General:
