The generic minimum requirements applicable to the post is as follows: • Applicants must display competency in the post-specific functions of the posts. • Be in possession of a Senior Certificate (Grade 12). • Be a SA Citizen. • Be (proficient) in at least two official languages, of which one must be English. • Be in possession of at least a valid light driver's licence. • Must have no previous criminal convictions or criminal cases pending. • Applicants will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening and fingerprint verification. • Relevant courses in the field of the post may be an advantage.
Additional Requirements: • An applicable NQF 6 qualification and 2 years relevant experience in the field of the post • Be able to work extended hours.

Core Functions: • To transport the Divisional Commissioner: Detective Service. • To render a protection service and safeguarding to the Divisional Commissioner: Detective Service. • Plan and co-ordinate the travelling of the Divisional Commissioner: Detective Service. • Ensure the proper maintenance and road worthiness of the vehicle. • Render administrative support to the Office of the Divisional Commissioner: Detective Service. • Ensure optimal utilization of resources (physical and financial) allocated to the post to support effective service delivery.
GENERAL: • Only the official application form (available on the SAPS website and at SAPS recruitment offices) will be accepted. The Z83 previously utilized will no longer be accepted.

The certification must not be older than three months. • Qualifications and driver's licences will be subjected to verification by checking with the relevant institution. • Appointment will be made in terms of the South African Police Service Act, 1995

• If a candidate is short-listed, it can be expected of him/her to undergo a personal interview as well as a practical assessment.
• Reference checking will be conducted on all short listed applicants. • Short-listed candidates for appointment to certain identified posts will be vetted in terms of the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007 (Act No 32 of 2007) and the Children's Act, 2005 (Act No 38 of 2005). A candidate, whose particulars appear in either the National Register of Sex Offenders or Part B of the Child Protection Register, will be disqualified from appointment in the post: • All short-listed candidates will be subjected to fingerprint screening. • Correspondence will be conducted with successful candidates only.
