SOUTH AFRICAN PHARMACY COUNCIL (SAPC)
APPLICATIONS AND/ OR NOMINATIONS TO SERVE ON THE ICT COMMITTEE (3X INDEPENDENT MEMBERS)
The South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) invites applications from suitably qualified persons to serve on its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Committee established in terms of section 4(o) of the Pharmacy Act, 53 of 1974, to assist the council (board) in fulfilling its oversight role by ensuring that ICT investments deliver measurable business value, drive innovation, strengthen IT governance and support the SAPC in achieving its strategic objectives.
Applicants should ideally be qualified, have ICT Committee experience and practical understanding of any of the following:
• information technology governance;
• ICT strategy formulation and oversight of technology projects;
• enterprise architecture and system integration;
• cybersecurity, data protection and information security;
• corporate governance and compliance;
• risk management and sustainability issues;
• Budgeting and financial oversight of ICT investments;
• Innovation with a focus on digital transformation; and
• function of a health statutory council.
Requirements: Candidates must hold a postgraduate degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification and be members of relevant ICT professional bodies. Candidates should have at least three years’ experience as members of an ICT Steering Committee or as Audit Committee Members responsible for ICT governance oversight.

Duration of membership and remuneration
Members of the committee shall be appointed for a 3-year term of office at a time subject to renew for one additional term. The committee meets at least 3 times a year; virtually or at SAPC offices.
Members are remunerated in line with National Treasury rates for non-official members, including travel and accommodation disbursements.
