SOUTH AFRICAN NURSING COUNCIL (SANC)

 

The South African Nursing Council (SANC) is the body entrusted to set and maintain standards of nursing education, training and practice in the Republic of South Africa. It is an autonomous, financially independent, statutory body, initially established by the Nursing Act, 1944 (Act No. 45 of 1944), and currently operating under the Nursing Act, 2005 (Act No. 33 of 2005).

POSITION: GENERAL WORKER: GARDENING AND LANDSCAPING

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

(NOTE: YOUR CURRICULUM VITAE, AND WHERE REQUIRED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS, NEED TO PROVIDE INFORMATION ABOUT THE BELOW REQUIREMENTS): 

·       Grade 12. 

·       A minimum of 2 years working experience in Gardening and Landscaping. 

 

ADDED ADVANTEGE REQUIREMENTS 

·       A Certificate in Gardening, Landscaping, Horticulture, or a related field 

·       More than (two) 2 years working experience in gardening and landscaping. 

·       Computer Literacy Certificate 

·       Valid Driver’s licence 

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE 

·       Knowledge of gardening, plant and flower techniques. 

·       Knowledge of irrigation system.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS 

·       Monitor the health of all plants and greenspaces, watering and feeding plants, trimming trees and shrubs, fertilizing and mowing lawns, weeding gardens and keeping green spaces and walkways clear of debris and litter. 

·       Perform seasonal landscape work including pruning, clean up, leaf removal and planting.

·       Prepare grading terrain, applying fertilizers, seeding and sodding lawns and transplanting shrubs and plants, using manual and power operated equipment. 

·       Maintain landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers and fertilizers. 

·       Maintain and repair of irrigation systems (manual and automatic). 

·       Hand water and monitor irrigation of plantings. 

·       Clean grounds by removing litter, using rakes, brooms and hose. 

·       Identify and treat weeds, pests and diseases on a regular basis. 

·       Provide driving/messenger services, where necessary 

·       Perform ad hoc tasks as delegated by Line Manager or Supervisor.
