The Necsa Learning Academy (NLA) is offering a learnership programme in Radiation Protection (RP). The programme will run for a period of 12 months.
The learnership programme will be on Radiation Protection (NQF Level 4). There will be both theoretical and practical training. Learners will be awarded the opportunity to work in the Necsa Group facilities to receive the necessary on-job exposure to equip them for employment.
 
NB: This opportunity is for individuals who have not participated in a previous learnership and or internship. Preference will be given to black females and Gauteng Province residents. No accommodation will be provided.
 
Requirements:
Applicants with Grade 12 Mathematics, Physical Science and age between 18 -35 years should apply.  Shortlisted candidates will be invited for aptitude tests as part of the selection process.
 
After completing this course successfully learners should be able to:
  1. Communicate about the hazards of radiation and contamination in the workplace and basic radiation protection;
  2. Communicate about workplace radiation and contamination monitoring;
  3. Select radiation and contamination monitoring equipment that suits the
  • type,
  • purpose, and
  • location of specific measurements;
  • Monitor radiation and contamination according to specified requirements;
  • Stick to radiation protection measures specified in given procedures;
  • Manage your own relations in the workplace for optimal productivity.
 
In order to master these practical skills, you need to master some background theory about aspects like
  • Basic radiation protection;
  • How radiation and contamination monitoring equipment function;
  • What factors can influence the usefulness of measurements;
  • What some of the specified requirements for radiological surveillance are; etc.

Period: 12 months
 
Necsa Group offers an opportunity for 12 months of Generic Management Learnership NQF Level 5 to unemployed candidates between the ages of 18-35 years who are in possession of a Matric (Grade 12) certificate. The candidates must be South African citizens with no criminal record.
 
Candidates will be subjected to written assessment tests or interviews, as part of the selection criteria. The selection criteria will be conducted in terms of the Necsa Group employment equity plan, Skills Development Policies, and other relevant policies.
 
NB:  This opportunity is for individuals who have not participated in a previous            learnership and or internship. Preference will be given to black females and Gauteng Province residents. No accommodation will be provided.
 
Benefits for the learner after successful completion of the learnership
Once the learner has completed the learnership, they will be awarded the following qualification:
PURPOSE OF QUALIFICATIONS.
The focus of this qualification is to enable learners to develop competence in a range of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values including:
  Initiating, developing, implementing and evaluating operational strategies, projects and action plans, and where appropriate, recommending change within teams and/or   the unit so as to improve the effectiveness of the unit.
  Monitoring and measuring performance and applying continuous or innovative improvement interventions in the unit in order to attain its desired outcomes, including customer satisfaction, and thereby contributing towards the achievement of the objectives and vision of the entity.
 Leading a first-line manager, by capitalising on the talents of the team members and promoting synergistic interaction between individuals and teams, to enhance individual, team and unit effectiveness in order to achieve the goals of the entity.
 Building relationships using communication processes both vertically and horizontally within the unit, with superiors and with stakeholders across the value chain to ensure the achievement of intended outcomes.


RATIONALE OF QUALIFICATIONS
  • The scope of generic management covers five domains: leadership, managing the environment, managing relations, managing knowledge and the practice of management. 
  • It provides opportunities for learners to transfer between various specialisations within management. 
  • This qualification is further intended to empower learners to acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values required to operate confidently as individuals in South African communities and to respond to the challenging economic environment and constantly changing world of work.

2023-2024 WORK-INTEGRATED LEARNING (WIL)
Necsa Group, through Human Capital Development (HCD), is contributing toward skills development by offering a twelve (12) months CHIETA funded Work Integrated Learning Programme.

Implement effective processes to maximize cash collections by ensuring timeous collection and approval and managing acceptable risks levels, this includes liaising with the credit bureau;

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
To render Education and Training support to HCD Department and NLA
Assisting in the Coordination of the Necsa internship program and learnership program.
Assist in training coordination and rendering administration services in line with Necsa internal prescripts & SETA requirements
Assist in the coordination and Administration of the bursaries and scholarship program
Compile the Necsa internal agreement contract for the learners Drafting of the appointment letter and regret letters
Arrange for security clearance and submit to relevant offices and receive results and keep records in a proper filing.

POST: Industrial Physics WIL
DEPARTMENT: Analytical and Calibration Services
QUALIFICATION: Industrial Physics Diploma
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Receiving equipment to be calibrated;
Calibration of radiological equipment using radioactive sources;
Capturing data and results using applicable systems;
Generating calibration certificates;
Ensuring the correctness of issued certificates by checking calibration certificates. 
Responsible for arranging that calibrated equipment is ready for customers in compliance with specification and quality management system.
Perform ad-hoc duties that are related to administrative work that is not specifically listed on the function above as and when required by the Section Head of the laboratory.

Calibration of radiation detectors equipment using radioactive sources;

Prepare and present results in a written report and /or presentation format.

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME (2023-26)
DEPARTMENT: Necsa Learning Academy-Apprenticeship Vacancies

Necsa Learning Academy would like to extend an invitation to the unemployed youth to apply for the Apprenticeship Training Programme in Boiler-making, Welding, Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner, Electrical and Instrument Mechanician engineering trades.
Necsa Learning Academy (NLA) is a nationally recognised and accredited skills development provider focused on professional and technical skills development.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  •  N2-N6 with 4 subjects and relevant trade theory included, or
  • Technical Matric with Maths, Science and relevant trade theory included, or
  • NCV Level 4 Engineering Certificate with 7 subjects and relevant trade theory included.
 
In addition to above minimum criteria candidates must also meet the following requirements:
  • Technical knowledge.
  • Must be able to work in a team.
  • Assist in building a high performance culture.
  • Appointments to these positions are dependent on successful completion of screening protocols, such as being declared medically fit, security clearance, qualification verifications, and technical assessments.
