Job profile:
Responsible for the implementation and facilitation of technical skills development training programmes to participants in their area of specialisation including assessment of participants, administration per NLA and accrediting authority requirements and ensure optimal utilisation of all allocated resources.
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Develop and maintain allocated resources
  • Identify and report training equipment defects and ensure that they are always operational and available for training purposes.
  • Ensure that there are always sufficient training consumables through implementation of appropriate stock control processes.
  • Ensure that there is proper housekeeping in their work areas.
Implementation of training intervention
  • Prepare appropriate and relevant training equipment for programmes offered.
  • Prepare training plan for the course content and ensure that there is sufficient training material and other relevant documentation in support of the offered course.
  • Prepare and supply assessment material for the offered course.
  • Ensure that all administration associated with the offered course or assessment is completed and submitted to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare presentations for facilitations of offered courses according to the approved curriculum.
  • Ensure that all training always achieves the set outcomes of the programme.
  • Mentor, coach and guide all learners whilst training to ensure the achievement of positive outcomes in terms of results.
  • Monitor the welfare of learners during training and liaise with relevant stakeholders to attend to their identified need to ensure holistic approach to training.
Assessment of learners
  • Ensure that assessment documents are utilised according to expected outcomes.
  • Assess learners according to training plans and qualifications authorities.
  • Complete assessment reports and related administration and submit to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide assessment feedback to all learners.
Management systems and compliance
  • Ensure that all your accreditations are relevant, maintained and up to date.
  • Ensure that all training and associated administration is implemented according to applicable quality management systems. (QMS)
  • Ensure that applicable safety measures are maintained in the training workshops inclusive of Behavioural Safety for all learners.
  • Ensure that all leaners comply to the training requirements for relevant courses.
  • Ensures that learners comply with all Necsa HR and other policies and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • Qualified on both Electrical and Instrumentation Artisan (Red seal).
  • 3 years’ experience as a Qualified Electrical and Instrumentation Artisan (Red seal).
  • 3 years’ experience as an Electrical and Instrumentation Facilitator and Trade Tester.
  • Registered Assessor with NAMB or any Seta. Registered Moderator with NAMB or any Seta.

Job profile:
To provide an advisory and consultative HR service to the Divisional Executive Manager, Divisional Senior Managers and other Management teams.
 
Key Performance Areas Strategic Partnership
• Develop an HR Plan that capacitates the division to meet its operational business plan (1 year plan)
• Partner with Human Capital Development to develop the next generation of leaders • Re-design organisational structures around strategic objectives

Description
Job purpose:
The Senior LIMS Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and support of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This role ensures the efficient use of LIMS in supporting laboratory workflows, data integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Senior LIMS Technician collaborates with laboratory staff, IT teams, and management to enhance system functionality and resolve issues promptly.
 
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
 
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. SYSTEM SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE
  2. Provide day-to-day technical support for the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  3. Perform system updates, configurations, and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  4. Keep abreast with technology.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to LIMS functionality.
 
 
  1. USER SUPPORT AND TRAINING
  2. Assist laboratory staff in navigating and using the LIMS effectively.
  3. Conduct user training sessions and create user guides or documentation as needed.
  4. Respond to user requests and resolve queries promptly.
  5. DATA MANAGEMENT
  6. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data within the LIMS.
  7. Manage data entry, import/export processes, and system-generated reports.
  8. Monitor data workflows to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GLP, cGMP, ISO standards).
  9. SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT AND OPTIMIZATION
  10. Collaborate with laboratory and IT teams to identify opportunities for system improvements.
  11. Assist in the testing and implementation of LIMS updates and new features.
  12. Customize system configurations to align with laboratory requirements.
  13. DOCUMENTATION AND REPORTING
  14. Maintain detailed records of system changes, issues, and resolutions.
  15. Generate routine and ad hoc reports for laboratory management.
  16. Document system processes, procedures, and workflows for internal use.
  17. GOVERNANCE, RISK & COMPLIANCE
  18. Pharmaceutical standards and compliance requirements regarding equipment as well as knowledge of 21CFR compliance.
  19. Provide input to QC Department for improvement compliance systems on equipment using the LIMS system.
  20. Liaise with the approved supplier for maintenance of LIMS system.
  21. Coordinate and initiate risk/ impact assessments and plans to address LIMS deficiencies.
  22. Manage implementation of change controls and processes related to LIMS.
 
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
 
Skills and Competencies
  • Familiarity with LIMS platforms and their application in laboratory workflows.
  • Proficiency in database management and data analysis tools. (Preferably SQL Server)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GLP, cGMP, ISO) is a plus. 
 
Technical Proficiencies

  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., SQL, Crystal syntax and Basic syntax).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
 
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • National Diploma /Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Microbiology, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ technical experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems as a LIMS Administrator with certification for:
-        LIMS Administration or equivalent
-        LIMS Basic Programming or equivalent
-        SQL certification or equivalent
-        Crystal reports certification or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in laboratory operations
  • Knowledgeable on cGMP/PIC’s regulations/guidelines related to laboratory software
  • Must be medically fit to qualify as a radiation and chemical worker.
  • Must be capable of working under limited supervision, able to evaluate operating conditions and exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn beyond production activities.
  • Must be prepared to work overtime and inconvenience hours.
