Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The incumbent will provide input in the development of and help implement a Legal strategy and to assist with the provision of legal services to the business, including litigation management, contract vetting, drafting of legal documentation, etc.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • An LLB degree or equivalent qualification.
  • At least five years’ experience, preferably within the public sector or exposure to public sector advisory in a firm of attorneys.
  • Must be an Admitted Attorney/Advocate.
 
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Knowledge and understanding of the local governmental landscape, and the regulatory and legislative operating environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering-specific legislation with which SANRAL must comply, especially the FIDIC suite of contracts.
 
Knowledge and understanding of a wide scope of legislation which includes but is not limited to:
  • Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act,
  • Public Finance Management Act,
  • South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited and National Roads Act,
  • National Treasury’s Regulations,
  • Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and all other related legislations.
