LOCATION: SANRAL Head Office, 48 Tambotie Ave, Val de Grace, Pretoria
APPOINTMENT TYPE: Fixed Term Contract – 18 Months
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The primary purpose of this role is to manage the implementation of ICT projects. This includes project planning, mobilisation, execution, timing, functionality, quality, communication and cost in order to manage the completion of work with internal or external delivery partners. to support the ICT Project Manager on with various Project Management Activities in the ICT department amongst others; National Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN) and Gauteng Communication Network (GCN) through its Project lifecycle.
ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree, Advanced diploma or equivalent (NQF 7)
• 3 years min of relevant experience in project management for IT projects
ADVANTAGEOUS
• Agile certification, an advantage
• Project Management qualification – PMP/ PMBOK/ Prince2
• 3 years of management experience

• Willing and available to travel frequently in any province in South Africa
• In-depth knowledge of Portfolio and project management within government state owned enterprises.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Engagement
• Consult with senior leadership to validate strategic alignment of project(s) to the overall business strategy and objectives
• Establish the required processes and tools to coordinate delivery between the delivery partners and internal stakeholders throughout the delivery of projects
• Facilitate measurement and reporting of value achieved and business benefits realized through projects.
• Manage delivery by ICT delivery partners including managing performance against the set direction and providing support and advice to ensure efficient and effective delivery against the contractual agreement
Sensitivity - General
Project Scope Management
• Understand, manage, and influence project scope and outcomes to be delivered between delivery partners and internal stakeholders to rebalance resources, manage variances, improve compliance, and ensure project success
• Facilitate, manage, and monitor stakeholder participation and contribution throughout project delivery to ensure delivery against the correct scope
Project Delivery Management
• Support and report to SANRAL ICT Project Manager as part of the SANRAL Project Management Team.
• Lead ICT projects with delivery partners (internal/external) to ensure delivery within time, budget, quality, and specifications. This includes managing project performance against delivery risks and issues to assess and manage the impact on solution delivery commitments, inter-project dependencies and contractual implications (where applicable)
• Agree and establish delivery and management processes to be adopted with the delivery partner, setup internal tools required to enable delivery and assess the stakeholder goals and expectations throughout the project phases
• Support delivery partners or internal delivery teams in the design, development, and implementation of business perspective work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports for projects
• Perform project delivery management including coordination of internal resource capacity to balance resource utilization, facilitating deliverable sign off processes, facilitating escalation processes and ensuring quality standards are maintained during project execution and delivery
• Facilitate project change management and support project transition processes to ensure successful acceptance by business
• Oversee and manage delivery of the Project Closure Report and ensure project close-out activities are completed
• Review designs submitted by Service Provider and distribute to appropriate SANRAL resources for sign off on behalf of SANRAL
• Carry out site surveys, testing and acceptance
• Review As Build submissions from Service Provider and carry out quality checks to ensure accuracy of information

• Monitor and interpret the integrity and consistency of reporting data and document trends for decision making
