POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Coordinate communication efforts between the Region and Head office. Assist in collation of projects information for communication purposes. Establish a repository of content for communication across all SANRAL products and platforms for the region. Act as a liaison person between the regional and head office for communication purposes. Provide content support to the editorial team.
The candidate will also assist the Online and Digital Channels Manager with social media communities and campaigns with responsibilities which include but are not limited to research, campaign and content creation, execution, monitoring and reporting for the Western Region and Head office. Other responsibilities include intranet and website administration.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• National Diploma in Marketing
• 3-5 years’ experience in Marketing and Communications sphere
• Must have valid driver’s license and own vehicle
 
ADVANTAGEOUS
• Degree/ Bachelor of Technology in Marketing
• Registered with PRISA (Public Relations Institute of Southern African)
• Ability to speak African Languages

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Content and publications
●Promote the organization through public relations initiatives ●Assist HO in identifying strategic stories in the region ●Contributing regional stories and photographs to SANRAL’s own media/communications platforms ●To be the main point of contact for all media and publication enquiries relating to the region ●Facilitate the approval of story diaries for publications with the relevant Project Managers and subsequently the Regional Manager ●Obtain approval of projects content from relevant project managers ●Contribute story ideas on a regular basis for inclusion in the story diaries for publications and social media platforms ●Maintain regular communication with the Publications Manager for distribution of communications products at various regional internal and external events ●Assist in drafting stories when needed ●Coordinate communication function in the region for all the active projects in consultation with the responsible project managers ●Identify communication opportunities and feedback to HO for further processing 
​●Regular interaction with regional stakeholder coordinators for communication purposes ●Collaborate with the content team on the required appropriate images and photographs for use in communication platforms ●Assist editors and writers with information research towards the development of content for communication products and platforms ●Establish and maintain working relations with internal and external information ●Providers in order to build relevant network of information ●Prepare a comprehensive diary for all communications products well in advance for approval ●Solicit content and liaise with information providers from public, private and state-owned entities within the region for use in various communication products and platforms ●Prepare and contribute to the regional communication reports Write reports as and when required
 
Distribution of information materials
●Facilitate distribution of publications to regional staff ●Advise on distribution opportunities within the region ●Receive and place publications at various contacts points in the region ●Archive all communication products received at the region for future access ●Coordinate and collate information from all contributors for the Integrated report ●Distribute all communication products as per the distribution strategy ●Monitor the actual distribution of communication products as and when required within the region.
 
Digital and social media
●Assist in developing and implementing the SANRAL’s Western Region digital and social media strategy ●Post to and monitor a range of social media accounts, simultaneously ●Help grow social reach, engagement, and referral traffic ●Spot social media trends, including new platforms and changes to existing ones ●Brainstorm and generate search friendly headlines and social friendly copy with team ●Writing content that is suitable for various social media platforms ●Responding to and addressing the community’s queries and complaints efficiently, professionally and timeously ●Driving engagement and conversations with the community and ultimately establishing brand loyalty ●Identifying tactical and relevant opportunities to engage with SANRAL’s communities ●Executing and optimizing content during campaigns to ensure momentum and optimal visibility ●Keeping up to date with the latest trends within the digital and social media landscape ●Executing social media competitions and collating entries ●Compiling weekly/monthly digital and social media platform reports ●Monitor effective benchmarks (best practices) for measuring the impact of social media campaigns ●Analyze, review and report on effectiveness of campaigns to maximise results ●Keep fully up to date with all that is happening within the organization.
 
Events, outreach and exhibitions
●Assist HO in identifying projects, opportunities and/or communities wherein events outreaches or exhibitions may be hosted ●Develop strategies and plans for regional events, outreach and exhibitions linked to overall strategy ●Develop checklists (including logistics and responsibilities), running orders, attendance registers and programmes for events, outreaches and exhibitions ●Assist HO in liaising with service providers prior to, during and post events, outreaches and exhibitions ●Assist HO in sourcing information about projects for use in speeches, media releases and leaflets ●Assist HO to setup, manage, run and break-down events, outreaches and exhibitions as well as draft close out reports ●Work with the regional Stakeholder relations and social facilitation coordinator for all required events and or outreaches linked to that portfolio ●Must be able to travel to various events in the provinces.
