Park: Addo Elephant National Park
 
Description:
A vacancy exists for a highly motivated individual with the necessary skills and experience to fill the position of a Project Manager to do overall coordination and management, as well as mobilization of all project inputs and supervision of relevant staff for the Wildlife Conservation Bond initiative in Addo Elephant National Park. The position will be stationed at Addo Elephant National Park.
Fixed-Term Contract Position (ending March 2027).
 
Requirements:
  • A recognised postgraduate qualification in environmental sciences or natural resource management;
  • At least 10 years of experience in programme and/or project management and natural resource management in a decision-making role;
  • Ability to effectively coordinate a multi-stakeholder project, administer budget, training and work effectively with counterpart staff at all levels and with all groups involved in the project;
  • Significant experience and demonstrated competence in financial management and budget control;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, effective team management and leadership abilities, as well as networking skills;
  • Thorough knowledge and application of relevant conservation legislation and regulations;

GENERAL MANAGER: CORPORATE FINANCE
Park: Groenkloof (Head Office)
Description:
The Organisation requires the services of a General Manager: Corporate Finance in the Chief Financial Officer’s Division. This position will be based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.
 
Requirements:
  • Be in possession of a B.Com degree and an Honours Degree in Financial Management or similar graduate qualifications.
  • The successful candidate is required to be a certified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) or be registered as a Professional Accountant with the South African Institute of Professional Accountants.
  • Should have 7 - 9 years experience in senior manager finance, financial accounting, auditing, general management, budgeting.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation (GAAP, PFMA).
  • Knowledge of Accountancy.
  • Knowledge of taxation (PAYE & Vat).
  • Knowledge of IT and ERP systems (Experience of working with Great Plains Financial package or other financial accounting packages).

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement and direct day to day financial accounting functions for corporate.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Develop, monitor and be responsible for an accounting system to provide timely and accurate financial information.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information to the executive committee.
  • Ensure compliance with the applicable legislation and financial standards.
  • Develop, enhance, implement and enforce internal control systems.
  • Oversee the investment of funds and manage associated risks.
  • Provide financial input on contract evaluation analysis.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Plan, manage and direct the budget process and to lead and develop the Human Capital of the department.
