PROJECT MANAGER: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Park: Groenkloof (Head Office)
 
Description:
The Organisation requires the services of a Project Manager: Business Development in the Tourism and Marketing Division. This position will be based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.
 
Requirements:
  • Be in possession of a Business Degree in Commerce, Tourism, Project Management or relevant.
  • Must have 6 years management experience, PPP Implementation experience will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the planning and implementation of Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects on behalf of SANParks, exercising delegated authority.
  • Consult with the management of SANParks at all relevant stages in the PPP project cycle and ensure ongoing consultation and buy-in from relevant stakeholders.
  • Directly support the Head: Business Development Unit to comply with the requirements of Treasury Regulation 16 to the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (PFMA).
  • Diligently manage the projects from inception to signing of the PPP agreement and financial closure.
  • Ensure that the projects are affordable to SANParks, provide optimal value-for-money solutions, and appropriately allocate risk to the private parties.
  • Manage all information systems necessary for the proper planning and implementation of the projects.
  • Proactively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to optimise opportunities for project success.
 
 
Salary: R 562 985 - R 743 003

SENIOR MANAGER: ENVIRONMENTAL LAW

Description:
SANParks currently offers this challenging career opportunity to an appropriately qualified and experienced person. This position will be based at Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.
 
Requirements:
  • Be in possession of a Legal degree (B Juris, B Proc, LLB) and an Admitted Attorney.
  • 10 years in the legal field of which 5 years should be in a managerial role.
  • Five years of experience in Environmental and Conservation law, Property law and the conveyancing process, Planning law, Administrative law (PAIA and PAJA), and interpretation of statutes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide constitutional; property, environmental, conservation, cultural heritage; and administrative law services.
  • Inform and influence policy formulation and long term planning on environmental and conservation-related issues of the organisation.
  • Lead, manage and develop the human capital of the environmental and legislation section.
  • Prepare budget and manage the finances of the section.
  • Conduct research; provide legal opinions and to provide environmental and conservation legislation guidance to the organisation.
  • Draft legal documents.
  • To draft letters and submissions to the Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment on environmental, conservation, land (property) and legislation issues.
  • Manage litigation matters in compliance with and adherence to the Rules of the Court in respect of environmental and legislative issues.
  • To resolve potential legal disputes and negotiate settlement terms.
  • Advise on alternative dispute resolution.
  • Provide environmental and conservation legislative and regulatory services to the organisation.
  • Provide legal support to the SANParks Law Enforcement Unit.
  • Ensure that Environmental Management Inspectors involved in poaching cases are legally represented at all times.
  • Manage land acquisition process for the organisation.
  • Attend to the declaration of land as part of a national park and/or establishment of new national parks.
  • Provide support to the Unit responsible for PAIA by collating information relating to environment and conservation PAIA Requests.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and processes in the land acquisition process.
  • Develop, review, vet and negotiate contracts and agreements relating to environmental and legislative matters as well as international instruments.
  • Build; enhance and maintain stakeholder relationships.
 
Salary: R 686 141 - R 1 124 945
