Applications are hereby invited from graduates who completed their Bachelor's degree/National Diploma (NQF6/NQF7) at a Public Higher Education Institution (HEI) in South Africa and wished to be placed in SANParks for a period of one (1) year with a monthly stipend of R6,030.00. SANParks is under no obligation to employ the Intern upon completion of the programme.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of the system-wide risk management function of the IT department to ensure risks are identified and monitored.
- Lead the system-wide IT compliance program, ensuring IT activities, processes, and procedures meet defined requirements, policies, and regulations.
- Develop and implement effective and reasonable policies and practices to secure protected and sensitive data and ensure information security and compliance with relevant legislation and legal interpretation.
- Assess computer hardware, software, and systems for security risks or violations and work with IT staff and technology vendors to recommend solutions.
- Execute strategy for dealing with an increasing number of audits, compliance checks and external assessment processes for internal/external auditing.
- Coordinate and track all information technology and security-related audits including the scope of audits, timelines, remediation, and outcomes. Work with auditors as appropriate to keep audit focus in scope. Provide guidance, evaluation, and advocacy on audit responses.
- Manage risk, compliance, and IT relationships with internal and external audit partners.
- Implement, manage, and maintain the Corporate Governance ICT policy framework.
- Report on the performance of the Corporate Governance ICT policy framework.

SENIOR MANAGER: APPLICATIONS SUPPORT

Description:
The Organisation requires the services of a Senior Manager: Application Support in the Chief Operating Officer’s division. This position will be based at the Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria.
Requirements:
- Be in possession of an ICT Technical degree/B-Tech/Honours degree.
- Should have an ITIL/COBIT Certification.
- Should have experience managing software development and Operation & Maintenance teams responsible for a business application portfolio of small, medium and large-scale systems/applications using industry-recognized delivery methodologies (e.g. SDLC, Agile, and their hybrids).
- Should have software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience must include managing detailed software requirements, design, coding, unit testing, integration, build and release management, and the creation and maintenance of associated documentation.
- Should have experience with supporting open-source applications and an understanding of web technology.
- Should have experience in managing or developing cloud-based applications.
- Should have extensive experience in a senior role within a professional ICT environment planning, installing, maintaining, and supporting business applications.
- Should have experience in supporting business application systems and an understanding of their architecture.

- Lead and prioritise the applications support team's workload.
- Develop, coordinate and promote the effective functioning of problem management activities across all of SANParks' applications support teams.
- Provide technical leadership and input to application scalability.
- Interact with internal teams and external 3rd party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
- Design appropriate metrics for reporting on key performance and quality indicators, particularly in terms of in-depth trend analysis.
- Ensure adherence to SANParks' ICT procedures and policies (i.e. change control, security and auditing, release, configuration, problem, and incident management).
- Provide timely and expert advice on emerging trends and issues affecting service delivery and support, and provide input in the development of strategies to allow application support to manage resultant problems.

Requirements:
- Be in possession of a 3-year Degree or National Diploma in Information Technology.
- Be in possession of a valid Project Management Professional (PMBOK) Certification or a valid Prince 2 Practitioner certification.
- Minimum of 6 years of work experience in an IT Project Management environment, of which 2 years should be in a senior project management role.
