Description:
SANParks requires the services of a General Manager: Finance based in the Kruger National Park (KNP) to lead and provide direction with regards to financial management activities relating to the programs and operations of the organization.
Paterson Grade: E-Lower
 
 
Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Be in possession of a Bcom degree and preferably an Honours Degree in Financial Management or similar post-graduate qualification.
  • The successful candidate is required to be a certified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior financial management position.
  • Experience in Financial Accounting, Audit preparation, preparation of Management accounts, General Management budgeting, Taxation (PAYE & Vat).
  • Understanding of the Public Finance Management Act.
  • Experience in working with Great Plains Financial package or other financial accounting packages.
 

Additional Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Understanding of South African Public Sector Supply Chain management and Preferential procurement legislation and regulations.
  • Contract and Project Management skills.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Suite).
  • Report writing skills.
  • Planning and organizing skills.
  • Policy development skills.
  • Presentation and Facilitation skills.
 
Responsibilities:
  • To plan, implement and direct day to day financial accounting functions for the organisation.
  • To develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • To develop, monitor and be responsible for an accounting system to provide timely and accurate financial information.
  • To provide timely and accurate financial information to the executive committee.
  • To ensure compliance with the applicable legislation and financial standards.
  • To develop, enhance, implement and enforce internal control systems.
  • To oversee the investment of funds and manage associated risks.
  • To provide financial input on contracts evaluation analysis.
  • To build and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • To plan, manage and direct the budget process and to lead and develop the Human Capital of the department.
  • To oversee the Supply chain management function within the KNP.
