The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) requires an enthusiastic, dedicated, professional and responsible person to assist in developing and implementing Human Resource policies, programmes, initiatives and projects that drive an integrated Human Resources Management Strategy to enable SANBI to attract, develop, and retain the necessary talent and skills required to achieve SANBI’s strategic objectives.
The successful candidate must be in a possession of a three year tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or equivalent qualification with NQF level 7, enhanced by 6 years’ experience in relevant field, 3 years of which should be in supervisory position(s).
The incumbent must have in-depth understanding and knowledge for development and implementation of Human Resource policies, programmes, and initiatives that drive an integrated Human Resources Management Strategy to enable SANBI to attract, develop, and retain the necessary talent and skills required to achieve SANBI’s strategic objectives.
Superb ability for handling recruitment, selection, and appointment matters, performance management and performance contracting matters, extensive Knowledge about legislation pertaining to human resources management, outstanding experience and understanding of governance, compliance, risk, and legal, excellent Project management skills and knowledge about human resources, procurement and financial management practices, policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of Human Resources Management Strategy
- Coordinate recruitment, selection, appointment activities to support the mandate of the institute
- Assist to manage payroll, benefits, and coordinate conditions of service activities
- Facilitate organisational design, job evaluation and performance management processes
- Assist to manage human resources risk, and human Resources budget, including human resources and corporate governance structures
- Assist in human capital development and change and transformation
