SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL AIDS COUNCIL (SANAC)
 
he South African National AIDS Council Trust (the SANAC Trust) leads South Africa’s response to the national HIV, TB & STIs epidemics. The Trust is building a dynamic team that can facilitate its effective leadership of the national response. We are therefore recruiting a Human Resources Coordinator for our organization. The incumbent will provide administrative support to the SANAC Trust Human Resources Unit. The position is based in Hatfield, Pretoria.
 
Name of Position: Senior Human Resources Generalist
Reporting to: CEO
Location: Pretoria
Grading: D2 
Duration: 3 Years (Renewable subject to the availability of funds)
         
Purpose of the job
Providing professional human resources support to the Human Resources Unit.  Enhancing various HR deliverables including recruitment, policy adherence and alignment, staff welfare, employee engagement, performance management, and HR administration.
 
 
HR Business Strategy
  • Align HR Plans to that of the other divisions;
  • Review and re-develop company policies;
  • Guide management and employees to achieve most suitable solutions.
Performance Reviews and Management;
  • Guide and support the performance management system;
  • Identify and address performance management training and support requirements.
Recruitment, Engagement and Talent Management;
  • Address identified gaps and needs with corrective actions that contribute to the enhancement of the company culture;
  • Identify and develop employees with potential in alignment with organisational needs.
Payroll Management
  • Manage all systems relating to processing of payroll and resolve any issues and answer payroll-related questions
  • Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems
Labour Relations
  • Participate in the interactions with the employees’ representatives and trade unions to enhance and maintain the relationship in accordance with existing agreements and legislation;
  • Provide line managers with the necessary guidance to facilitate a conducive working environment;
  • Utilise developed skills to identify possible conflict situations and advise on the appropriate pro-active actions.
Training and Organisational Development
  • Use analytical skills, data and trends to diagnose management issues and to report accordingly
  • Responsible for drawing up of the workplace skills and training plans and assist with the EE online submissions and drafting of EE plans
  • Partner with department managers to maintain a highly motivated and engaged workforce
  • Assistance on employee orientation, development and training
 
Other
  • Labour, SARS and any other physical or online submissions (UIF, EMP201, Workmen’s Comp etc.)
 
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources / Organisational Psychology / related.
  • 5-8 Years relevant Human Resources Generalist / HR Practitioner experience required
  • Experience gained within the NGO Sector would be advantageous
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office/ HR Systems is essential.
  • Proven understanding of labour law and employment equity regulations.
  • Solid and proven HR administration skills.
  • Proven people management skills.
  • Be fluent in at least one South African language
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity, understanding of the political, contextual, and ethical issues in assigned areas
  • Sound computer skills, including VIP Sage payroll, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, and the Internet.
  • South African citizenship is required
