RISK SPECIALIST (FIVE YEARS FIXED TERM CONTRACT)
SALARY: COMPETITIVE AND MARKET RELATED PACKAGE
 
The South African National Accreditation Systems (SANAS), based in Pretoria, is listed as a Schedule 3A Public Entity according to the National Public Entities Classification. SANAS is mandated to be the Sole Provider of National Accreditation Services, whereby it formally recognises the technical competency of calibration and conformity assessment service providers that offer testing, inspection verification and calibration services as well as inspection against OECD GLP Principles in both the public and private domains.
 
SANAS seeks to employ an experienced Risk Specialist with strong managerial, strategic and operational skills on a fixed term contract for a period of five (5) years. As Risk Specialist, the candidate will manage the strategic and operational risks and make sure that they are effectively and proficiently managed to ensure a well-governed and compliant organisation.

  • Risk and Ethics Awareness -primary champion of risk and ethics management at strategic and operational level
 
COMPULSORY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum qualification of B Degree (Business/Accounting/Finance/Auditing/Internal Audit).
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a Risk Specialist, Internal Auditor.  
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a Compliance and/or Internal Auditing environment. 
  • Knowledge of the Public Sector Risk Management Framework.
  • An Honours Degree in Risk Management or any related postgraduate degree will be an added advantage.
 
COMPETENCIES/KNOWLEDGE:
  • Extensive knowledge and Understanding of the Risk Management principles and guidelines. 
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of the PFMA and National Treasury Regulations, and other related legislation including Corporate Governance principles, King IV, Companies Act, PAIA and POPI.
  • Experience in the facilitation of risk management and information workshops
  • Understanding of Ethics management and the Regulatory environment.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of corporate governance.
  • Proven ability of business process mapping and modelling.
  • Strong knowledge of risk identification, assessment, and risk management frameworks.
  • Knowledgeable of new trends and developments in corporate strategy and business analysis. 
  • Financial, auditing and risk management reporting skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication. 
  • Computer literacy –MS Office, especially MS Excel.
  • Managerial experience/skills.
  • Analytical thinking, logical reasoning and organisational skills.
