The above position will report to Designated Person Ashore
SAMSA is seeking the expertise of an Assistant Designated Person Ashore to assist the Designated Person Ashore in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of SAMSA MSP owned and operated vessels via the control and compliance with the ISM, ISPS and MLC codes / regulations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Liaise with Vessel Masters on routine issues of the Company Management System

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Liaise with Vessel Masters on routine issues of the Company Management System
- Serve as the Assistant Company Security Officer
- Port Services Security Officer
- Port Facility Security Officer
- Documentation Control
- Training and Development
- Provide input to DPA on aspects of SOLAS, MARPOL, Merchant Shipping, Act etc
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- National Diploma in Maritime Studies
- Deck/Engine officer COC
- 2 -3 years' service in maritime industry with exposure to the control and application of the ISM / ISPS code requirements
- Knowledge of the ISM code, ISPS code and the MLC
DESIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Skilled in the use of Windows operated computer systems
- Microsoft office
