The South African Library for the Blind (SALB) through Sheldon Recruitment, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates who are South African citizens for the following position to commence on 1 July 2023 or earlier:
 
ACCOUNTANT

Minimum Requirements: A completed NQF 6 or higher-level qualification in Accounting/Finance, coupled with 5 years working experience in a financial administrative position, of which two years should be in a supervisory capacity. Good working knowledge of GRAP, IFRS, the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, SCM and related Acts and prescripts will be distinctly advantageous.
 
Competencies and attributes: Ability to perform book-keeping functions up to at least trial balance effectively and efficiently; prepare and review payment reconciliations, capture monthly bank accounts and reconcile bank statements. Attend to preparation of Monthly, Quarterly, Annual and Ad-Hoc financial reports. Ability to inspect and advise on corrections required on SALBs payroll processing and statutory reporting in terms of payroll matters (e.g. Tax reconciliations, Workman’s Compensation, Statistical reporting, etc.). Advanced level skills in MS Office (Excel in particular) and Pastel Accounting. Working experience of electronic banking processing; excellent communication skills in two official South African languages, of which one must be English as business language. Deadline driven, figures oriented, analytically minded, with good planning and organizing skills. Previous auditing experience will be an added advantage. Knowledge of preparing quarterly and annual financial statements for the public sector entity as well as budget processes.




Remuneration: Annual Basic Salary around R426 042 per annum (This excludes the value of other salary related fringe benefits)
