WELLNESS CONSULTANT

Reporting line: GM: Employee Relations and Wellness
Role Mandate
To design wellness programmes within SAFCOL that promotes healthy employees’ behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and coordinate health and wellness programmes
• Develop and implement wellness initiatives that educate and encourage employees on achieving personal health goals
• Capture all medical surveillance results and update medical records
• Manage and maintain all medical surveillance to ensure legal compliance
• Ensure adherence of medical surveillance service provider according to service level agreement
• Analyse effectiveness, utilisation of wellness programmes and recommend changes to improve outcomes and employee satisfaction
• Share information, educate, and provide effective feedback on wellness related activities
• Advise business on disability cases and monitor in accordance with company IR and HR policies
• Process temporary and permanent disability claims
• Monitor counselling services provided to business by outsourced wellness service provider where required
• Report and manage chronic disease cases

• Review, implement and maintain applicable mandatory Codes of Practice
• Maintain employee’s rights to privacy and confidentiality, including medical files and medical information received
• Explore ideas and opportunities to increase employee participation in wellness programs
• Promote work life balance topics, arrange, and drive health awareness days in line with SA national dates on health programmes
• Obtain information from service provider, provide monthly and quarterly reports
• Identify service delivery challenges with outsourced wellness service provider and take remedial actions
• Ensure accessibility of health and wellness services to all employees
• Educate and continuously promote Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to business
• Register and keep record of all:
Minimum requirements
• Grade 12
• National Diploma: Nursing
• Post Graduate Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health Nursing
• Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner (OHNP)
• 5 Years’ experience in Nursing of which at least 2 years in Occupational Health
• Valid driver’s licence
