Role Mandate
To mark trees for thinning in line with the thinning regime to improve quality of the stand.
Key Accountabilities
Accurately count number of trees per plot
Determine number of trees to be marked for thinning
Select trees to be marked in the plot
Select and mark all unwanted fork, damage, crooked and dead trees to be removed during the thinning
Ensure marked trees are visible
Ensure trees marked are correctly selected as per selection criteria
Comply with all safety procedure and standards
Perform adhoc duties as and when and required
Minimum Requirements
Grade 10
In-service training on marking for thinning
Marking for thinning certificate will be added advantage
Environmental awareness will be added advantage
Previous experience in a similar work environment will be added advantage
