JOB DESCRIPTION
Status: Fixed Term Contract (9 months)
Location: Mechanised Harvesting – Central Region
Grade: B2
Reporting line: Forester: Mechanised
 
Role Mandate
Felling, debranching and cross cutting of trees in the harvesting operations on the plantation.
 
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Felling, debranching and cross cutting of trees in clear-fell and thinning operation
  • Achieving BOP targets set by supervisor/forester
  • Servicing/cleaning of chainsaw everyday
  • Ensure regular chainsaw check list
  • Report faults immediately to supervisor/forester
  • Adhoc duties as requested from your Plantation manager
 
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 7
  • Two (2) years’ experience as a Chainsaw Operator
  • Full Basis Chainsaw Operator Course
  • Previous experience in similar environment will be advantageous
  • Be physical fit
