Role Mandate
To conduct daily inspection, troubleshoot and maintenance of all mechanical equipment, electrical device including conveyors, chains drive, gearbox, machines, hydraulic pumps and water pumps.

Key Responsibilities
 Ensure maximum availability of all machines, electrical and mechanical
 Install electrical and electronic equipment such as pumps, electronic motors, fans, blowers, gearbox, pipes, valves, compressors, electrical control gears, instrumentation systems etc.
 Order and ensure availability of critical spares for electrical and mechanical
 Plan and organise all work orders allocated
 Ensure good housekeeping
 Perform basic welding and assist in executing special projects
 Perform standby duties
 Overhaul electrical motors and drive gearboxes
 Ensure maintenance on hydraulics and pneumatics power systems including high and low tension power circuit (22KV and 220V), power plants, AC & DC motors, MCC’s drives and PLC’s
 Identify mechanical faults reported during breakdown and maintain timeously
 Perform fault finding/ troubleshooting of complex problems
 Read and interpret technical drawings / schematics for the purpose of debugging faults timeously
 Support operations with problem solving and continuous improvement
 Liaise with production personnel to schedule planned inspection and maintenance
 Perform maintenance schedule including routine lubrication, filter changes, greasing, gearbox oil top-up etc.
 Conduct daily, weekly and monthly inspections, as per mill maintenance programme
 Adhere to provision of SAFCOL policies, procedures and all other relevant legislation
 Ensure conformance with safety requirements and execute millwright maintenance or replacement activities
 Ensure compliance on classification and priorities system for completion of work
 Conduct on the job training and mentor Apprenticeship Students
 
Minimum requirements
 N3 Millwright Certificate
 Trade Certificate: Millwright
 National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Engineering will be added advantage
 3 Years’ experience as Millwright in processing/ manufacturing environment
 Previous experience in sawmilling environment will be added advantage
 Valid driver’s licence
