Purpose Statement
To facilitate the timely development, drafting, and maintenance of South African National Standards (SANS) by conducting research, engaging with committees and stakeholders, and coordinating technical requirements, processes and approvals in accordance with defined SABS, ISO and IEC standards.

Minimum Requirements
 
Qualification
  • National Diploma / Diploma in Engineering: Electrical (Heavy Current) (NQF Level 6) 
Work Experiance
  • 3 years relevant industry experience. (Operational Level)

Duties and Responsibilities
Functional Management
  • Develop, draft, review, revise and maintain South African National Standards (SANS) from proposal approval to publication.
  • Capture, structure and document technical requirements in collaboration with Technical Committees, Working Groups and subject-matter experts.
  • Ensure compliance with approved SABS, ISO and IEC drafting and structural rules and facilitate adherence to prescribed formatting requirements in collaboration with Editors.
  • Manage standards development activities across multiple concurrent projects and timelines
  • Conduct and coordinate research to support the development, revision or withdrawal of standards.
  • Evaluate standards proposals and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Compile, submit and present research outputs and technical recommendations for internal and external approval processes.
  • Consider national priorities, stakeholder input and international developments during research activities.
  • Prepare and circulate committee draft standards in accordance with approved drafting procedures.
  • Manage draft standards through committee, public comment and approval stages.
  • Consolidate, analyse and coordinate responses to comments received from Technical Committees and stakeholders.
  • Ensure revisions are accurately incorporated and documented at each stage.
  • Ensure that draft standards undergo required technical review and that comments are addressed.
  • Verify technical accuracy, completeness and readiness of documents prior to final submission or publication.
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders through structured consultation and balloting processes.
  • Submit draft standards, research outputs and proposals for stakeholder review.
  • Coordinate stakeholder feedback and ensure responses are addressed in line with approved procedures.
  • Provide technical and process clarification to stakeholders where required.
  • Participate in National, international and regional standards development activities (e.g. ISO, IEC, ARSO, SADCSTAN) as assigned.
  • Fulfil approved leadership or management roles such as Committee Manager or Chairperson.
  • Coordinate international and regional committee participation, including engagement with mirror committees and participating countries.
  • Align international and regional standards outputs with national standards development -objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with SABS policies, procedures, governance frameworks and accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, records and audit trails for standards development activities.
Risk and Compliance Management
  • Assist in identifying and adhering to fraud controls, risk prevention principles, sound governance and compliance processes, and tools to identify and manage risks
  • Monitor changes in the regulatory environment and ensure that appropriate operational controls are implemented to address new requirements.
  • Adhere to all relevant laws, policies and Standard Operating Procedures throughout the organisation.
  • Ensure that standards adhere to company policies and
    standards.
Stakeholder Management
  • Identify and mitigate internal systems and procedural barriers to enhance excellent customer service.
  • Build and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships for the purpose of expectations management,knowledge sharing and integration, and to manage the organisation’s reputation.
  • Facilitate the need to participate in International and Regional Standardisation Committees, including membership levels,and ensure effective contribution on standards projects that
    South Africa participates in.
  • Fulfil the approved leadership roles in International standards development committees as required.
  • Provide advocacy and guidance to relevant stakeholders.
  • Chair committee meetings effectively when required.
  • Educate all stakeholders on the standards development process through workshops and meetings and represent the organization as proficient in the standards development process.
  • Represent and participate in the organisation’s committees and tasks teams when required.
  •  Convene and attend meetings and present performance and business information to relevant stakeholders when required.
  • Provide technical support on projects when required.
  • Actively liaise and build relationships with SABS clients and service providers so as to ensure that the service standards are met appropriately.
  • Effectively manage customer complaints through timeous resolution and/or escalation as required.
  • Analyze queries and develop mechanisms to proactively resolve common issues and share lessons learned.

Purpose

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
  • Diploma Advanced Diploma / BCom Degree in Marketing, Marketing Management or a related field (NQF Level 7)
Experience 
  • 10 years relevant work experience in Marketing & Communications (Operational Level)

  • Proven track record and ability to execute and formulate corporate strategies for Marketing & Communications (Operational Level)

Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Management 
  • Contribute towards the development of an operations strategy for the Division and ensure alignment of this strategy with the plan for the Marketing and Communications unit overall.
  • Ensure productivity and efficiency is measured effectively against set objectives.
  • Manage and ensure the drive of continuous improvement activities.
  • Manage the business unit and ensure that it contributes to the achievement of business objectives
  • Manage operations effectively to deliver services within timelines and prescribed quality through effective resource management
  • Use insights gained through business information to compile reports, and metrics to measure success and inform the business decisions within area of responsibility
Functional Management
  • Develop, plan and execute digital marketing, including social media utilisation plans to enable the SABS brand image and positioning within the social sphere.
  • Developand implement plans to address internal stakeholder communication requirements and lobbying stakeholder’s support of marketing initiatives.
  • Oversee drafting and delivery of key messages for internal communications and events to strengthen the corporate reputation among all audiences and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance the SABS brand image by managing all internal corporate communications and ensuring consistency with the company’s vision, mission, goals and values.
  • Develop,define and implement the high-level Marketing & Communications business architecture requirements to facilitate execution of the SABS strategy.
  • Develop and implement operational plans for the progressive digitisation and/or automation of Marketing & Communications processes, where relevant.
  • Review, develop and implement the SABS integrated Marketing & Communications strategy, policies, procedures, frameworks and plans, based on the market environment & business needs.
  • Manage all corporate communication and brand management
  • Manage the publication of corporate documentation, brand building, development and advocacy material
  • Manage all proof reading, quality assurance, design, layout, printing, uploading and distribution of all corporate content, website content, hard copy material and programme related material (such as the annual/integrated report, corporate/business plan, etc.).
  • Manage the final approval process for all mass printing/publishing of corporate and programme material.
  • Oversee electronic publication on the website, including decommissioning of the material.
  • Manage the design process of the look and feel of the website and intranet.
  • Develop and be accountable for the use of the SABS corporate logo, brochure and templates (e.g. letterhead, memo, etc.) and ensure protection thereof where necessary.
  • Oversee the development of workflow processes and procedures to enhance the customer brand experience
  • Develop cost-effective processes and procedures
  • Oversee the development and implementation of tools to measure brand / corporate identity views, perceptions and suggestions.
  • Ensure effective and on-time reporting of Marketing and Communications performance and improvement, where required.
Risk and Compliance Management 
  • Ensure the mitigation of the business units’ risk profile through the application of fraud controls and risk prevention principles and implementing of sound governance and compliance processes and tools to identify and manage risks.
  • Responsible for the coordination and maintenance of quality risk management in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor changes in the regulatory environment and ensure that appropriate operational controls are implemented to address new requirements.
  • Support and provide evidence to all internal and external audit, Accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the maintenance and enforcement of related Service Level Agreements to minimise business risk and ensure business continuity.
  • Ensure adherence in the team to all relevant laws, policies and Standard Operating Procedures throughout the organisation. 
Financial Management
  • Provide input in the planning and compilation of the annual budget aligned to the tactical delivery plans to support the implementation of set objectives.
  • Ensure the effective implementation, management, monitoring of the budget, and mitigate and report on any variances.
People Management
  • Proactively manage all direct reports in order to ensure that the strategic objectives for the division is met.

•    Contractor Management: Tracking and scheduling specialized third-party service providers.

Duties and Responsibilities
FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT  
Work Order Management & Scheduling:
•    Plan and schedule facilities assignments and projects in collaboration with the Department Head and BU Managers.
•    Scope work orders: identify labor requirements, materials, specialized tools, and necessary permits.
•    Administer all ad-hoc or short-notice changes to plans and record internal planning postponements.
•    Chair weekly scheduling meetings with Facilities and Business Units to resolve priority conflicts.
System Administration:
•    Maintain the internal planning master schedule and update job statuses on the planning system.
•    Verify the status of IRQs (Internal Request Queries) within set timelines.
•    Maintain a digital and physical library of technical manuals and "As-Built" drawings.
Logistics Coordination:
•    Coordinate with Procurement to ensure spare parts and specialized vendors are available for planned shutdowns.
