MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION
To create, develop and implement the SABC TV Network On-air strategy in order to 
Increase and maintain audiences across SABC Television Network, Build channel brands through on-air promotion and (including DTT) to provide a platform for revenue generation. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
•    Develop strategic On-air promotion and implementation plans for the Television Channels
•    Build channel brands through creative and concise on-air imaging and promotions 
•    Identify and develop annual campaigns and special projects aligned to each channel brands 
•    Manage and execute On-air aspects of annual campaigns and special projects on behalf of the channels.
•    Promote Television content for engagement on digital and traditional platforms.
•    Conceptualize and create suitable On-Air imaging to promote programmes and build channel brands.

•    Improve reach and impact of content by utilizing Audience Research and effective scheduling of promos for maximum reach.
•    Identify and recommend On-air best practices to Television channels.
•    Identify and manage service providers and facilities for On-Air department.
•    Identify and allocate Technical resources for the Creative team.
•    Plan, determine, manage and ensure cost effective utilization of On-Air budget.
•    Compile Business plans for approval.
•    Compile Creative Briefs and issue it to external service providers
•    Build and Drive creative excellence on the On-air team
•    Lead and manage a large On-air team   

REQUIREMENTS:
•     Bachelor’s Degree in Film and Television or equivalent qualification
•     6 years’ experience of which 3 years should be on Supervisory level
•     Knowledge of Graphic design, video editing, visual effects,
•     Knowledge of On-Air imaging and sound design
•     Budget management and forward scenario planning
•     PFMA and relevant national treasury regulations an added advantage 
•     Strategic management
•     Understanding of the different role players within the broadcasting landscape
•     Project management
•     Leadership
