Main Purpose of the Position
To partner with Management in the development of relevant and effective business-based talent solution as well the execution of company-wide Human Resources programmes and initiatives, such as workforce planning, total pay programmes, re-organisation, and acquisitions.  To provide counselling and guidance to Management in the implementation of Corporate Human Resource policies, processes, and best practices.
 
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Contribute continuously to the development and review of the Human Resources Strategy for the Organisation and cascades the implementation process thereof
  • Track, evaluate and monitor the implementation of the Human Resources strategy to ensure continuous alignment with the Corporate Plan.
  • Monitor Human Resources budgets continuously and develop action plans to ensure best cost containment practices.
  • Manage Human Resources policies and procedures to ensure that the Organisation recruits, develops, rewards, motivates and retains high quality employees.
  • Identify problems which extend beyond the scope of Human Resources Managers delegation of authority and provide support in resolving it.
  • Assess the effectiveness of Employee Relations procedures and processes on a continuous basis and recommend changes where necessary to keep up with relevant Legislations.
  • Monitor effective resolution of workplace disputes and grievances and escalate/communicate more serious Employee Relations matters to Employee Relations,
  • Manage and monitor recruitment efforts to ensure that it addresses Organisational Equity plans and targets.
  • Provide coaching and support to Line Managers and Human Resource teams on a continuous basis in the implementation Human Resources initiatives.
  • Create awareness of critical socio-economic health and wellness issues and escalate identified risks timeously to the Group Executive Human Resources.
  • Manage, lead and monitor Human Resources activities such as appointments, terminations, etc. to ensure compliance with processes and procedures.
  • Communicate Employee benefits to Human Resources teams to ensure application in a consistent manner
  • Advise Organisational Effectiveness and People Transformation Unit regarding structural changes to ensure job profiles are updated and maintained on a regular basis
  • Re-enforce Human resources procedures with Human Resources teams to instil good governance and minimise Organisational risk.
  • Oversee the management of financial risks to protect organisational integrity, create value, prevent financial loss and ensure compliance with applicable policies and legislations.   
  • Monitor and report on compliance in line with OHS Act for own department.
  • Monitor execution of internal risk audits per checklist to identify and address gaps and provide execution of mitigation strategies.
  • Champion Human Resources programmes to constantly seek ways of adding further value to the business through collaboration, coaching, education and appreciation of business priorities.
  • Coach and mentor Human Resources team in accordance with the Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Discuss and assess the training needs of direct reports and compile Personal Development Plans (PDP) for implementation.


Minimum Requirements and Experience
Honours Degree in Human Resource Management or Equivalent qualification
8-10 Years’ experience in Senior Management role within Human Resource generalist community.
