Purpose

Job Description
Purpose
The Director: ICT provides strategic and operational leadership, governance, and oversight of the University’s ICT environment, ensuring the delivery of reliable, secure, and fit-for-purpose technology services. The role enables and supports the University’s teaching and learning, research, and administrative functions, while advancing institutional priorities, operational effectiveness, and practical digital innovation.
The position requires the ability to balance strategic direction with hands-on operational leadership in a developing, evolving ICT environment, ensuring sustainable service delivery and continuous improvement.
Minimum requirements
- A postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in ICT, Information Systems, or Management.
- 8-10 years’ experience in managing ICT within complex organisational environments.
- At least 5 years’ experience at a senior management level, with accountability for ICT functions or portfolios.
- The following professional certifications are required:
- ITIL
- COBIT
- PRINCE2 / PMP
- TOGAF
- Proven experience in leading ICT operations, including service delivery, infrastructure management, and the delivery of reliable, business-aligned ICT services.
- Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity and ICT risk management, including:
- Identification, assessment, and mitigation of ICT-related risks,
- Implementation of appropriate security controls and governance measures.
- Oversight of data protection, regulatory compliance, and business continuity planning.
- Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of ICT strategy and roadmaps, aligned to organisational objectives.
- Experience in vendor, contract, and service provider management, including procurement processes, service level management, and performance monitoring.
- Experience in establishing or enhancing ICT governance frameworks, policies, standards, and service management practices (e.g. ITIL-aligned environments).
- Experience in driving improvements in ICT environments, including stabilisation, service improvement, or operational transformation initiatives.
- Experience working within higher education, or similarly complex institutional environments, will be advantageous
- Experience in supporting digital enablement of teaching, learning, research, or business operations will be advantageous.
Recommended Requirements

Purpose
The Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences invites applications for a Lecturer position under the New Generation of Academic Scholars Programme (NGAP), which is a nationally funded programme aimed at developing the next generation of academics through a structured and supported career-development pathway.
The successful candidate will be appointed in the Department of Accounting and Economics Sciences as a lecturer in Accounting, while receiving reduced teaching loads and structured mentorship to support the completion of a doctoral qualification, development of teaching competence, and establishment of a research profile in accounting. The incumbent will contribute to undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching, curriculum development, and academic activities within the department, in line with the objectives of the NGAP programme as well as the institution.
Minimum Requirements
- A master’s degree in accounting or commerce or any equivalent master’s degree (specializing in Accounting, Management Accounting, Auditing or Taxation).
- Prospective candidates should have achieved an average of 70% or above at master's level.
- Must be forty (40) years or younger.
- At least two years teaching experience in a higher education environment
- Commit to the completion of Doctoral studies, within a prescribed period.
