MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide strategic business development mentoring to Entrepreneurial Development Practitioners (EDP) that will enhance the development of small business.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Effective implementation of the BESD EE Course.
Implement, co-ordinate and monitor training provision to Emerging Entrepreneurs (EEs)
Manage EDP performance:
Site management and administration
Monitoring and evaluation of training and coaching provision and outcomes, and the application of appropriate measures to ensure quality
Monitor and evaluate the improvement of client business positions.
Facilitate networks and linkages
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
Matric (NQF Level 4) and National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Business Management/Commerce/Economics
Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) in Business Management/Commerce/Economics will be an added advantage
Project Management certification and experience will be an added advantage
BESD experience and knowledge an added advantage
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
3 – 6 year’s work experience in business advisory/consulting/project management
Able to demonstrate:
Good understanding and knowledge of small enterprise development sector.
Computer literacy
Thorough understanding of the BESD coaching methodology.
Thorough understanding of the Emerging Entrepreneur (EE) course structure and content.
Principles of project management.
Knowledge of micro-enterprise sector (conditions, issues, challenges).

TASKS AND ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY SITE SUPERVISOR
Implement, co-ordinate and monitor training provision to EEs:
Implement the EE course in accordance with BESD requirements.
Obtain approved EE application forms from SEDA and allocate 13 EEs to each EDP, and;
Report on any discrepancies in EE enterprise information as per application form.
Select substitute EEs from reserve list if required.
Generate and maintain a tracking summary of all coaching sessions conducted (using the electronic template provided).
Co-ordinate, facilitate and support all aspects of the training provision to meet required quality and service delivery standards.
Coordinate and facilitate site activities and EDP access to resources for effective delivery of EE Course and required quality of training/coaching.
Ensure effective application of the BESD coaching methodology.
Provide support for Business Club workshops.
Identify and resolve problems in provision (e.g., relating to broader logistical/operational issues).
Trouble shoot/ resolve coaching related issues (where EDPs are unable to do so using the coaching method).
Manage EDP performance:
Recruit EDPs where needed
Collect information on individual EDP performance (tracking performance, early identification of problems).
Support/ mentor EDPs to develop the skills and knowledge required for the EDP role:
Coaching / training, facilitation, record-keeping, enterprise-related, self-management.
Provide intensive guidance and support initially to enable inexperienced EDPs to:
Provide EEs with the required quality of training/ coaching (e.g., preparation for sessions, using the learning materials).
Carry out the required record keeping and administration activities.
Support EDPs to manage themselves and their activities (task scheduling, time management).
Identify (in consultation with EDPs) training and performance shortcomings and problem areas and take appropriate remedial action.
Identify additional development and training needs for EDPs (e.g., gaps and weaknesses in individual EDPs’ knowledge) and provide support to address these.
Facilitate supplementary learning interventions to enable EDPs to perform additional activities required for delivery of the EE course (IMS, Business Clubs).
Facilitate and support the development of group synergy and the concept of peer learning amongst EDPs (i.e. a ‘community of practitioners’), e.g.:
Team and confidence building amongst EDPs.
Exchange of experience/ learning between EDPs.
Problem solving, applying solutions.
Combining/ sharing aspects of work (e.g., research, preparation) in a structure way).
Provide support, raise awareness and take practical steps (where applicable) to assist EDPs to maintain personal safety (particularly with regards to female EDPs).
Monitoring and evaluation:
Monitor and evaluate a range of activities and outcomes and take appropriate action in response to findings, wherever required:
The provision of coaching (preparation, customising for individual needs, application of the BESD approach).
The quality of coaching outcomes (evidence of EE learning and application, and the quality thereof).
EDPs’ data collection for the IMS, population of the IMS database and maintenance of IMS data (EE enterprise performance).
EDPs’ record keeping and maintenance of TP’s EE admin files.
All relevant administration processes.
In relation to monitoring visits by SEDA and GIZ personnel, co-ordinate access to EDPs and EEs, and access to information for monitoring.
Analyse and evaluate data across all the EEs at the site and generate and compile reports.
Follow up on EEs dropping out – identify reasons and address these if required.
Regularly review TP’s EE admin files (monitor EE and EDP performance, early detection of problems).
Identify and report trends and information relevant for making strategic decisions.
Conduct regular visits to EE businesses and engage with individual EEs.
Site management and administration:
Site set up and management
Procurement of necessary office equipment
Align and coordinate the various aspects/ components of the project.
Provide information as required (write reports, give feedback).
Generate programme information and where applicable, keep it updated.
Attend internal and external project management meetings.
Facilitate networks and linkages
Liaise and co-operate with SEDA representatives.
Establish and maintain relationships with BESD stakeholders and key players in the enabling environment.
Facilitate networks and linkages to assist EDPs and EEs (with project stakeholders and key players in the enabling environment).
Communicate as necessary (community, media) to market the BESD concept.
Consult sources and media to keep abreast of local and national events and trends in the micro-enterprise sector, identify potential additional resources and opportunities for EEs and share this information with the EDPs.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To manage (plan, organise, lead and control) the Seda ICT Infrastructure Sub-Unit which includes developing, maintaining, supporting, backup and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications and telecommunications systems.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
❖ Benchmark ICT Infrastructure best practices and advise on ICT policy development
❖ Develop and implement Seda’s ICT Infrastructure standards, guidelines and procedures in line approved Seda requirements
❖ Manage Seda’s ICT Infrastructure Security which includes ICT Disaster Recovery and Service Continuity Plans
❖ Develop and manage implementation of Seda’s ICT Infrastructure capabilities and technology architecture
❖ Manage the implementation of ICT infrastructure projects
❖ Manage ICT infrastructure finance and procurement in line with ICT strategic and security plan
❖ Manage outsourced ICT Infrastructure Services through Contracts and Service Level Agreements
❖ People management
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION
❖ Matric (NQF Level 4) and a B Tech (NQF Level 7) or Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) in Information and Communication Technology coupled with recognised industry certifications.
❖ Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) or post graduate Diploma (NQF 8) in Information and Communication Technology coupled with recognised industry certifications added advantage.
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
❖ 6-8 year’s experience in ICT environment of which three (3) years should have been at Team Lead level with proven track record of maintaining ICT Infrastructure
Able to demonstrate:
❖ Comprehensive experience as an ICT Infrastructure management specialist with a wide variety of skills to align ICT Infrastructure with the strategic direction of an organisation
❖ Prior experience in network management, scripting and system administration
❖ Thorough knowledge of developments in the ICT industry
❖ Understanding of ICT governance frameworks and quality standards e.g. COBIT and ITIL
