General Forestry Learnership Programme – 2019
 
 
Applications are invited from the unemployed youth who wish to pursue a career in Forestry. The suitable candidates will be granted an opportunity to attend a twelve months General Forestry Learnership Programme. Learners will be studying and residing at the Platorand Training Centre situated in Sabie, Mpumalanga Province, to complete both the theoretical and practical component of the Learnership.
 
Upon successful completion of the learnership, learners will receive a nationally recognised qualification (General Education and Training Certificate in Forestry NQF 1). Learners will gain work experience that will improve their chances of employment with forestry companies and contractors also provide opportunities to set up their own small business. Learners will also gain links with the employment networks to get jobs.

 
A monthly stipend will be allocated to learners for the duration of the learnership. When making the final selection preference will be given to Previously Disadvantaged Individuals i.e. People living with disabilities, females & Youth from communities adjacent to SAFCOL plantations and Communities we have signed social compacts with.

REQUIREMENTS:• Must be an unemployed Youth (between ages 18 to 35) • Must have completed and passed grade 12 (matric) • Must have passed matric with the following subjects; Maths, Biology and Science • Must have passion for Forestry and be willing to work outdoors.
 
 
HOW TO APPLY:Write an essay, a maximum of 2 pages explaining why you should be considered to be enrolled in the General Forestry Learnership Programme.
