​SENIOR MANAGER HUMAN RESOURCES 

PERMANENT CONTRACT 
TOTAL COST TO COMPANY: R1 152 568,66 – R1 272 436,42 
 
The above position is available in the Human Resources Department at Robben Island Museum (RIM). 
The incumbent will work closely with business leaders to ensure that HR programs and services support and drive the strategic objectives of RIM. Guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for RIM. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Implement RIM core values, people values and ethics programs. 
  • Plan, directs and organise the analysis, activities, and preparation of human resources systems, procedures, and practices. 
  • Establish Human Resources procedures and operations consistent with legislative requirements (BCEA, EEA, OHASA, SDA, SDLA) and RIM policies. 
  • Assess and evaluate current procedures and recommend changes. 
  • Serve as liaison between RIM management and staff to discuss and resolve a variety of human resources issues such as staffing, reorganization, policy and rule interpretation and related personnel issues. 
  • Conduct research, analysis and studies to address major issues and problems related to Human Resources and recommend or initiate programs or actions to resolve problems and enhance services. 
  • Develops databases, gathers and analyses trends and data; prepares reports and formulate recommendations regarding specialized Human Resources activities. 
  • Plan, develop and recommend new or revised Human Resources policies and programs to meet the operating needs of the RIM and the needs of its staff. 
  • Analyse and evaluate the impact of proposed legislation and rule changes; assisting in the establishment of institutional Human Resources policies, rules, and procedures. 
  • Develop program proposals and procedures and interpret and apply diverse policies, rules and regulations to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of Human Resources Department operations. 
  • Participate in the planning and development of the Human Resources Departmental budget; reviews and recommend controls to the approved budget. 
  • Provide internal/external training both orally and in writing on Human Resources systems, procedures and practices. 
  • Serve on various RIM committees as representative of the Human Resources Department. 
 
Requirements and Experience: 
  • Postgraduate degree (NQF 8) in Human Resource Management or equivalent 
  • MBA will be an added advantage 
  • 8 years HRM experience of which 5 years is in management role

​REVENUE MANAGER

Total Cost to Company (R709 288,98 – R783 272,79) 
The above -mentioned position is available in the Finance Department at Robben-Island Museum. 
The incumbent will be responsible for managing revenue streams and internal control functions. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Implement, monitor and evaluate controls over Revenue cycles. 
  • Manage personnel within revenue cycle and hold personnel accountable for functions. 
  • Detail review of processes in revenue cycles. Pro-actively identify risks and update as environment and processes change. 
  • Manage the cash management processes. 
  • Manage relationships with third parties with outsourced revenue functions and hold other parties accountable for their deliverables. 
  • Pro-actively identify areas of potential fraud and investigate and report to management on transactions. 
  • Manage relationships with clients and solve problems as they occur in the Sales Cycles. 
  • Prove data analytics on sales performance and monthly reports on revenue performance.
  • Manage relationship with ticket sale service providers and continually improve system to reduce risks and increase efficiencies. 
  • Prepare accurate forecasts of sales figures for future periods. 
  • Implement initiatives to increase revenue and profit margins. 
  • Prepare Annual Financial Statements. 
  • Perform calculations and research to support strategic decisions. 
  • Monitor internal control effectiveness and test controls. 
  • Manage relationship with SARS. 
 
Requirements and Experience: 
  • BCom Accounting (Honours) degree/ or equivalent qualification. 
  • 5 years Revenue Management experience, of which 3 years must have been in management position/level. 
  • Proven ability to manage, train, coach, develop and motivate staff. 
  • Application of internal controls, 
  • Reporting and financial management in accordance with varied compliance obligations. 
  • Financial and contractual matters in a public sector environment desirable. 
  • Ability to manage and identify Risks. 
  • Completed articles. 
  • CaseWare experience advantageous.
