EX-POLITICAL PRISONERS RESEARCH ASSISTANTS x 2 
Eastern Cape Province (Buffalo City, Chris Hani, Amathole 
District and Nelson Mandela Bay) 
TOTAL COST TO COMPANY: R 15, 583 pm 
4 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT 
The above short-term positions exist in the Heritage and Research Department at Robben Island Museum. 
Responsibilities:
•                Contact EPP’s or families in specified locations using the RIM EPP Database and own networks to inform on and invite to participate in the life history interviews.
•                Scheduling appointments for interviews. 
•                Conducting the interviews in accordance with prescripts provided. 
•                Uploading of interviews onto hard drives. 
•                Generate and submit reports 
 
Minimum requirements: 
  • Be Robben Island ex- political prisoners with verifiable prison number. 
  • Born and reside in Eastern Cape. 
  • Knowledge of basic computer literacy to search data and input data. 
  • Excellent telephone manner and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in English and languages spoken in Eastern Cape. 
  • Valid driver’s license. 
  • Ability to travel away for 4 weeks at a time.
