​INVITATION FOR NOMINATION OF PERSONS TO SERVE ON THE BOARD OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT CORPORATION (RTMC) 
 
The Road Traffic Management Corporation Shareholders Committee, in terms of section 8(10) of the Road Traffic Management Corporation Act, 1999 (Act No. 20 of 1999) as amended, invites members of the public to nominate persons to serve on the Board of the RTMC. 
 
The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) is a national public entity established in terms of the Act with the main purpose of pooling powers and resources to consolidate the responsibilities of all aspects of road traffic management across all spheres of government in support of enhanced cooperative and coordinated road traffic strategic planning, regulation, facilitation and law enforcement. 
 
The Board is appointed to ensure that the RTMC strives for the achievement of the objectives outlined in the Act. The Board serves for a period not exceeding three years and is accountable to the Shareholders Committee. 
 
The term of office of the current Non-Executive Members of the Board will be expiring on 31 October 2025. Therefore, members of the public are hereby invited to nominate persons from the public and private sectors with proven expertise and competencies in the field of corporate governance, information technology and road traffic management, to serve on the RTMC Board. 
 
Nominations must include, amongst others, the following – 
  • full name, address and contact details of the person proposing the nomination; 
  • motivation for the nomination; 
  • a signed acceptance of the nomination by the nominee (the person who is being nominated) 
  • certified ID copy of the nominee; 
  • Curriculum Vitae of the nominee providing, amongst others, 
    • Full name and gender; 
    • Contact address, telephone and e-mail address; 
    • Previous experience and relevant expertise, quoting dates and organisations concerned; 
    • Certified academic qualifications; 
    • Other Board membership/s. 
 
Nominees who are recommended for appointment would undergo a preliminary security, CIPC checks and academic qualification vetting.

The closing date for nominations is Tuesday, 1 July 2025. 
 
Nominations received after the closing date will not be considered. Nominees who have not been contacted within two months of the closing date of nominations should accept that their nominations were unsuccessful.
