Purpose: The Lecturer is responsible for the facilitation of registered and accredited, standardised training courses for traffic and road safety personnel. The incumbent in this role plans and facilitates training sessions and is also responsible for the assessment of trainees. 
 
Requirements: Matric (NQF Level 4) • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (NQF Level 6)• Traffic Officer Qualification will be advantageous • Assessor and Moderator Certificate • 5 years’ relevant lecturing experience post obtaining the degree, of which 3 years should be at a supervisory level

Duties: • Prepare and coordinate the practical and theoretical curriculum timetable and submit • Give input and suggestions to enhance theoretical and practical training content • Ensure smooth delivery of training• Conduct research and prepare the lesson plan • Conduct allocated traffic and road safety training courses• Give input to training and assessment policies • Conduct theoretical formative and summative assessment of learners on an ongoing basis • Moderate assessment instruments and marks• Ensure that all assessment marks and comments for theoretical and practical modules are provided and captured on the system• Ensure the maintenance of discipline within the college • Compile weekly theoretical and practical training reports • Produce progress and adhoc/information reports according to requirements and timelines to Management and Internal stakeholders • Assign work on a daily, weekly and monthly basis according to competency and skills levels •Ensure that all areas within the section are covered and that all work in the allocated section is completed within set requirements and timelines • Gather feedback from stakeholders to improve and optimise service delivery • Identify issues and problems within allocated area and make recommendations to implement changes as and when required • Provide updated reports in area of responsibility to Managers to support decision-making • Ensure that opportunities are taken on with a “can-do attitude” and with a focus on continuous learning.
