ROAD TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT CORPORATION (RTMC)
 
Position : Chief Communications Officer 
Unit : Office of the CEO 
Location : Centurion 
Salary Package : Market Related 
 

Job Purpose : The Chief Communications Officer reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for developing and maintaining the Corporation’s media strategy and plan. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing the reputation of the Corporation.
 
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
• To manage the Communication Unit within the Office of the CEO ensuring that set performance expectations are met. 
• To maintain and build relationships with all stakeholders and service providers to ensure service level requirements are met. 
• To develop and execute the RTMC Media plan. 
• To manage relationships with the media. 
• To act as the Spokesperson for the RTMC. 
• To oversee the effective management communication processes and activities. 
• To perform relevant people management functions within the allocated sections. 
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Grade 12. 
• Bachelors' degree or equivalent (NQF Level 7). 
• Honours Degree (NQF Level 8) and Masters' Degree (NQF Level 9) advantageous. 
• 8 years’ experience of which 4 must be at management level.
